Being an old bugger, I saw Faith No More waaaay back in the 80's, when Chuck was still in them. Also saw RATM in 1994, so again no need to revisit them.

My mate wants me to go and see Wire in Oxford, I told him its not my thing. It may be Wire, but I don't fancy going to watch them go through the motions alongside a load of misty eyed, stuck in the past and can't let go, middle aged arseholes.

I see enough middle aged arseholes when I look in the mirror.

My thinking is, ive seen jsut about every band i want to see. My dream list only has the beatles ( ), the rolling stone and the stone roses left on it. I never thought id get to see TSR so even if its gooseberry fool, i'm willing to take the risk.

I suppose it depends on whether the band are reliving past glories or if they have new material (and if said material is any good). I saw KISS a couple of years back and among the greatest hits stuff was songs off their new album Sonic Boom which was a good album in it's own right and the best thing KISS had released in years.

If Trent Reznor ever did another Nine Inch Nails tour I'd be there in a shot. He's the last artist that I really want to see but haven't seen live yet.

And I was. :( A friend of mine won a competition on a bottle of Bacardi for 2 festival tickets. We could have gone to either T in the Park or V Festival. The dozy sod picked V, even though we had already seen Oasis in Cardiff earlier that year and neither of us had ever seen Blur. Grr! Only good thing was that it was the last ever concert Oasis performed, was hilarious the next day when word spread that they had cancelled the Chelmsford site.

In a way it shows how dire the music industry has become that people need to return to old stuff. There are a lot of current bands I like (although they aren't exactly mainstream), but it doesn't feel like an exciting time in the music industry, because everyone is just doing the same old thing. I want to hear new sounds.

I'll definitely try to get tickets. If the demand for their world tour is the same as the Manchester shows, it might be difficult, though!

So who went to this then? I went on Friday and had a great time but despite how badly organised it was. The q for the bar was so bad I went for a drink just as primal scream came on and they were finished by the time I came back, what a joke. The sound was pretty bad a times too, too bassy. The stone Roses were great in my opinion though and Ian Brown's singing was as good as it could ever be really.

I went yesterday and had a great relaxed time thanks to my hospitality tickets 8-)

No queue to get in, straight into our separate area which featured a covered bar with dj playing great tunes, leather sofas, wood fired pizza ovens and really nice loos! Also our wristbands allowed us to get in the front area so we had a shitload of space with about 50 thousand people getting squashed behind us :shifty: . When it shat down in at various points in the day we just hid in our private bit and got sloshed.

Mates of mine went in Friday and said bars were a joke and the toilets were a nightmare!

:fp: It's called Don't Stop and was on the first album ffs. They reversed waterfall and wrote down the words as they sounded.
