Sorry to hear that Mini E. How did you find out?

I'm very myopic, which means I'm much more susceptible to all kinds of fun like glaucoma, cataracts, wet/dry AMD, detached retinas, etc. Had to stop practising MMA as a result, and I'm quite paranoid about it all. Presumably if your condition is genetic, there's not much/a limited amount you can do?

People seem to be confused about what man flu is. Its a minor cold that men play up as being the flu, either to show how they can shrug it off and get on with things or so they can lie down and get some pity. Youre a bit of bragging away from full blown man flu there, go for it.

That's crap Mini E. Maybe you should consider changing your name to Maxi E so that it isn't such a strain trying to read it going forward ;)

Kinda knocks my recent diagnosis of having osteoarthritis in my knee into the long grass.

I think I may have fractured my left little finger (at the knuckle). If so, this happened two weeks ago. It has a slight swelling (swelling hasn't actually changed since it happened) and it still hurts when bending it. Anyone have any experience of fractured fingers? Not sure whether should go to the Drs as not sure how much can be done for a fracture rather than a break.

Theres no difference between a fracture and a break, fracture is just the clinical term.

Id say head to the doc, he may only strap it up and send you on your way but its best to get professional advice on this kind of thing, dont want it healing wrong and causing more problems later on.

Go to the doctors. I've spent years ignoring physical problems and like Rax said, gooseberry fool can get strawberry floated up.

I went to the minor injuries unit. They said most likely soft tissue damage and I want to keep moving it rather than strapping it up.

Fingers and toes are usually treated the same as a fracture or soft tissue injury unless you're bones are actually smashed or poking out. Usually an X-ray is a dose of radiation that's not worth giving if you're gunna just get it taped up either way.

Waiting for an MRI to see if there's any changes in my tumour now my hormones are aw strawberry floated up. Luckily the effects of this imbalance is practically nowt that I'm not already dealing with.

Yeah, that is basically what the nurse said. Unless the bone in my finger was twisted or movement was impacted they wouldn't be cutting me up. Given the number of chest x-rays I've had a hand x-ray isn't a concern. I should have Hulk like powers by now but no. FML.

A good example of why you should get professional advice instead of listening to some idiot on the internet.

:dread: Been getting intermittent chest pain over the past 5 days around my heart (quite scary as a physically fit 25 year old guy) and it got bad last night to the extent I went into hospital and had some bloods/ECG taken. I'm on the other side of the desk for ECGs normally and it wasn't too fun to be on the patient side of things >_< - No obvious ECG abnormalities and my blood work was completely normal so they've sent me home and told me to come back if it gets any worse :dread: - Shan't be gymming today....

Also waiting on my blood tests to try and isolate the specific type of retinitis pigmentosa I have to try and work out the likely rate of eyesight degeneration (if any).

Why is my body falling to strawberry floating bits? :dread: :(

I had something similar happen in my early 30s. The pain got so bad at some points it was difficult standing up. Like you, went through all the tests and nothing was found. But then as magically as it started, it went away. Hopefully what you have is the same.

I missed this, went to minor injuries and they strapped it for a couple of weeks, and then I had to get on with it - there's not much they can do for a knuckle fracture as you have to use your hand a lot. My little finger still doesn't stretch out properly and hurts in the cold over two years later, and probably always will do. Unlucky mate. :dread:

Mini E - that sucks to hear mate, you're a good lad and don't deserve that gooseberry fool.

I frequently get near crippling chest pains often accompanied by shooting pains down my arm and have done for at least 8 years - Ive had every kind of test you could imagine for it and the end result was: anxiety and stress.

No physical root for it so difficult to treat. Literally the only way around it is to chill out a bit, or, get on some anti anxiety meds. I breathe through it when I can but when that is impossible I drop a propranalol to help out.

Obviously yours might not be stress related, but in case it is, you just have to stay calm and not dwell on it. Go zen and focus on breathing well to get to the other side.

I think my little finger is going to end up similar. Movement is fine, but still aches when bending, particularly first thing in the morning.

Hello doctors,

Every morning I wake up and my first steps are really painful on my right foot, but no idea why. The achilles tendon seems really sore and tight so I guess there must be an issue with that, but I also have a continually sore heel (just the back of it, not the part that actually touches the floor), where if I press on it it feels like it's badly bruised, but there's no bruise there and I don't recall banging it. It's been like this for about 5 weeks now and doesn't seem like it's getting any better at all.

Any ideas what I've done?
