@Knoy That's my point, she lives/lived there, so that source isn't helpful in corroborating what I have said.

I think you must be thinking about this answer she gave to the WTA magazine?

WTA Insider: Have you had a chance to sit down with your team and look ahead at when you want to get back to training and what the rest of the season looks like?
Raducanu: Yeah, I think after the US Open I wanted to give myself this week to completely switch off from tennis because it's been an extremely intense but rewarding seven weeks. But I've worked very hard to finish on such a high with the US Open, a whole week off was needed.

I know I'll get back to work probably Monday or early next week to get back to training again. Schedule-wise, I'm not sure. Maybe Indian Wells, I don't know. I'm going back to London before my next tournament for sure.

They're the same comments from the BBC article (which credits WTA mag) and as I said above, it doesn't corroborate the media stuff.

I'm sure I didn't imagine such a specific comment! :slol: :shifty:

I think you might have done. Or if she did say it, it was maybe sarcasm aimed at her critics.

If you are a no-name player and you suddenly win the US Open, you are going to have a fuckton change in your life that needs sorting. I wouldn't be surprised is she needed to negotiate a whole new agency deal etc. She probably went from a jobbing player with a fairly standard salary to a millionaire.

Drummy is Eddie Jones:

“The big thing for good young players is distractions … there’s a reason why the young girl who won the US Open hasn’t done so well afterwards,” said Jones.

As he discussed Raducanu, Jones did not refer to her by name. “What have you seen her on – the front page of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar or whatever it is, wearing Christian Dior clothes,” he said. “All that is a distraction around her.”

Ah right, sorry, I read it as though you were trying to question why she was going back to London if she lived somewhere else.

I barely follow tennis anymore but after all the rubbish about Djokovic and rightly being denied the right to play, having Nadal win his 21st is like the icing on the cake

That was probably the greatest final performance I've seen.

Brilliant, what a fighter Nadal is. If there was ever a play you had to bank on with your life on line, it's surely him.

BBC wrote:Novak Djokovic has said he would rather miss out on future tennis trophies than be forced to get a Covid vaccine.

Djokovic was asked if he would sacrifice taking part in competitions such as Wimbledon and the French Open over his stance on the vaccine.

"Yes, that is the price that I'm willing to pay," he said.

For some bizarre reason the BBC seems to think the entire interview warrants prime time, so there's been a schedule change for 8.30pm tonight on BBC1 so we can listen to Novak Djokovic spout gooseberry fool.

Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from Indian Wells and the Miami Open - the first two Masters Series events of the year - because of US coronavirus rules.

Regulations require any non-US citizen to have a Covid vaccination before entering the country.

Serb Djokovic, 34, told the BBC last month that he had not been vaccinated.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner was included in the draw for both events, but has since posted on Twitter that he knew it was "unlikely" he could travel.

Oh no.

It's hilarious that he'll probably miss out on being the greatest male tennis player ever, just because of his anti-vaxx bullshit.
