It might be health-related, but I’d bet she’s decided she’d rather just stay in Australia and play cricket.

I can see her playing international cricket for Australia, she was more than decent when she tried it before.

A shame in many ways, but I reckon she'd have dominated the Slams if she'd continued.

Former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker jailed for two and a half years for hiding assets to avoid paying debts

The only thing he'll be serving now is jail time.

Hopefully he’ll still be doing the Wimbledon commentary this year.

He was my first tennis hero and i followed him for many years. He fired my interest in tennis. No sympathy for him though. Very self indulgent man who had everything. What a strawberry floating idiot. Im just glad his wife and kids got theirs before he spunked it all away.

Insert a few "They've jailed the wrong blonde Boris" jokes here. Absolute bellend - this isn't even the first time he's found himself hauled up on similar charges, so as Denny says I have no sympathy for him.

Biggest prick and more harmful to others but it takes a special kind of stupid to win the financial jackpot and be so bad with managing it you end up in jail.

So both ATP and WTA have thrown their toys out the pram this evening and stripped all ranking points from Wimbledon. A lot of players seriously unhappy apparently.

I'm glad Wimbledon have done this. I'd feel sick seeing Medvedev standing there with a cheesy grin on his face holding the trophy, with the images beamed all over the glorious motherland.

It's very strange to see the ATP and WTA take a very different stance to most other major sports. I hope we see the US open follow Wimbledon.

Unless those tennis players have links to the Kremlin or outright support the invasion of Ukraine I don't think it's right to discriminate against individuals or potentially put their families on Putin's radar by making them sign up to declarations against the Russian leadership. Wider Russian organisations and teams, sure, ban them from whatever international sport potentially forever but you shouldn't for example have an outright ban on sports teams from signing individual Russian players.

The LTA have made themselves a very obvious outlier within the tennis world when it comes to dealing with Russian and Belerusian individuals potentially representing their nations. Indian Wells, Miami, France, and Italy have all allowed those players to compete at the highest level by not representing any nation and I don't feel for example that the French Open will be compromised because it'll be the first Grand Slam to do the same.

EDIT - Think I meant All England Club rather than LTA.
