I'd quite like to see one of the big four tournaments be an FA Cup of tennis. Would be cool.

How else do they determine it though? Nobody wants to see a random draw and we get Nadal vs Federer in the first round or Djokovic vs Murray. That sort of system will mean that quite a few players may fluke to the final because they got a significant easy draw.

The rankings need to matter. My issue is that Murray knew for weeks he wasn't gonna make it. Once he missed Cincy then he should have just ended his 2017 season. He shouldn't really play the rest of the season. He's had a long career with no breaks.

The draw already was a mess with 4 of the top 8 players already missing.

Either Feds going to walk it or this is gonna be as tough to predict as a WTA tournament.

If it's Fed-Nadal SF, the overall winner will come from the other half of the draw.

:slol: May I revise this prediction??

There's now no top 15 player in that half of the draw. One of Querrey, Pouille, Kevin Anderson, or Pablo Carreno-Busta is going to make the final (!!!) Or will it be Shapovalov who came through qualifying? They're very likely to qualify for the WTF with those points, too.
What a year!

Remarkable recovery by Del Potro last night. Thought he was going to retire after the first two sets.

Hope he has enough in the tank for Federer.

Well blame Murray for pulling out so late. We might have had a more even final.

I'm not much of a romantic when it comes to sport but it would be awesome if Del Potro won it now.

Great job by Del Potro. Deciding foolishly trying to play. Then goes and beats Federer. If he didn't do that then Fedal would be playing the next match. He's completely ruined the tournament. Dick move by him.

Del Pocho  would also love it if he won. Been so unfortunate only to have 1 slam to his name.

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder.

Enjoy watching Carreno Busta vs Anderson in a semi final of a grand slam and then a one sided final. If this was a 250 event then that would be a great semi final. If your idol decided to pull out at the right time then the draw wouldn't have been strawberry floated. Do you think I'm the only one calling him out for it? Rafa called him out on it too.

Nadal is 4-0 vs Anderson and Carreno Busta. Del Potro is 6-0 vs Anderson and hasn't played Carreno Busta yet.

Del Potro, Federer or Nadal would have gone through to the final in their sleep if they were on the other side of the draw. Murray with a dodgy hip would have too.
