I hope Kevin Anderson does the decent thing and just lays down & dies.

Not watching sadly but it seems like a straight sets victory is a cert.

It's exciting only for Rafans, I'm afraid.

After 4 years, another US Open. Amazing.

Rafa is a phenomenal player. Never my favourite but phenomenal, no doubt.
I wonder what odds you'd have got at the start of the season if you'd predicted two slams for Rafa and two for Roger!

I did sort of tip them if Djokovic was going to play like he did at the end of last season. Federers problem especially in the last few years has been how to deal with Djokovic. Nadal needed a new coach. Moya has improved his serve and his forehand finally has some power again. I didn't really think Murray was a problem for either of them.
Next year they can do it again. But it all depends on what Djokovic shows up. Think Rafa can get a few more French Open if he stays fit.

With his injuries I genuinely thought Nadal was a big doubt to win a major again. It's been great to see him back. Feds, too.
Be interesting now if Djokovic can get back to his best and join them in the top tier of the pantheon of the sport.
Of course we know
Murray won't.

Nadal had an injured knee but only pulled out after losing a match. What a twat. But his name is not Murray so he’ll get an easy ride and his replacement has little to no chance of getting through.

Yeh, he shouldn't have started the tournament.

Goffin def. Federer
Would never have guessed that result!

RIP Novotna. Always remember her meltdown and tears at Wimbledon in '93 and then finally winning it years later. So sad.

That's properly gutting news about Novotna.

I remember both of those occasions.

A bit worrying what’s going on with Murray.
All this talk of hip replacements and him being emotional doesn’t really bode well. Hope it’s nothing too serious and he recovers. Tennis would be poor without him. British tennis would be even worse. The only one capable of doing anything is Konta.

I agree. That’s our lot for the next 50 years.
