It was on NBC before, now it's Showtime they consciously made the choice to have more violence. It's definitely a darker show than most of the original seasons, the tone is more Fire Walk with Me.

There's a bit more swearing, too. I'm really not sure it adds anything.

Just watched the first two episodes and didn't really enjoy it at all. Most of the time I thought it was gooseberry fool, hopefully it will pick up.

You can tell who's seen other Lynch films before and who hasn't.

Watch all 3hr15 of Inland Empire my dude, then everything else is like a warm summer's breeze.

I've seen the original series, The Elephant Man and Eraserhead.

Never watched this before and have decided to finally pick it up now that season 3 is here. I'm expecting it to be odd based on the pop culture references I've seen over the years but have no real idea about what to expect!

I understand there are two versions of the pilot episode, how do I know which one I'm watching and does it matter?

Watched the 3rd episode of series 3 yesterday. Overall, disappointed. Feels like it is taking too long to get going, I was hoping more of the original series but this just seems like nonsense.

Just finished episode 3 ("Hellooooooo!" :slol: ). First half an hour or so was awful, but it got better. The chocolate rabbits

Episode 6: Diane! :o

I genuinely thought she was imaginary or something in the first series

That bit with the kid, though :dread: That's not Twin Peaks.

I'm definitely starting to go off this - the original series was weird but the weirdness was...cohesive. This has random bouts of ultra-violence that to me aren't adding anything. Also the catatonic Dale Cooper thing has gone on long enough.

Yeah, I loved this back in the day but this new series is pretty poor in my opinion. I don't think it captures the feel of the original at all, which I remember at least having a sense of humor throughout.

I'm really disappointed with this, to be honest.

I'm only up to episode 3, but does Agent Cooper actually get back to Twin Peaks and give us something that resembles the original? If not, I can stop watching now and only have wasted 3 hours.

Not yet.

Maybe I'm in a minority, but I'm loving this series. It's a real distillation of David Lynch's artistic preoccupations, and has something of the original series' weirdness, humour and dread. I think DougieCoop is fascinating and tragic; I think there are troubling things happening in and around Twin Peaks, and Mr C is a plausible development of the shock ending of Series 2. It feels different, sure, but I find myself thinking about it long after the credits roll.

Finished episode 4 and it just feels that the story is going nowhere or it is doing so at snail pace. Part of me thinks I should just delete the episodes I have and delete the schedule but a part of me wonders whether I'd then miss something good. Although with each episode that goes by, the latter seems less likely.

I would recommend keeping going with it, unless you hate it. The story is building: episodes 5 and 6 introduce new and significant elements. But if the languorous pace is leaving you frustrated, I don't know if/when that might change.

3x07- Did I really just watch two minutes of someone sweeping the floor? Is that what actually happened here?

Episode was good though.

Was it only two minutes? Went on forever!
But things are starting to move generally, which is good.

Just started season 2 after taking a break since I finished Season 1. 201 was golden. I can't decide what was better; the old-man bellhop with the winking & thumbs up or Ray Wise singing/the Horne brothers dancing as he walks in. Utterly bizarre scenes but so funny.
