Was expecting a lot more from it but reckon its probably a product of its time and nostalgia at play? Few funny moments littered throughout the 3 series I’ve watched so far but no idea why its rated so highly by many.

What seasons have you watched?

I do think it definitely is a product of its time and suffers for it to a degree, but there's still lots of laughs to be had.

Yep, would agree with that.

It does have some brilliant moments though.

The problem is that if you’re watching it for the first time now all of the jokes have probably been done in other things since, so the natural reaction is to find it a bit formulaic even though it definitely wasn’t when it originally aired.

I first watched episodes in 2017-18, when I was in my late 20s, and this was certainly my impression.

One of the characters always calls one of the other characters Dave even though that isn't their name, what more do you strawberry floating want?

To be fair it only really got good when David Beckham joined the cast.

Fighting games shouldn't have a Block/Guard function since all it does is get cheesed and drag out matches, especially when playing against the AI.

Counter is fine so long as it has a cool down and can't just be spammed.

Blocks should be in there because it's a valid technique in sparring. I think it should either have a timer of how much you can block in a round (say 8 seconds per 90 second bout) or a gradual increase in the damage taken per strike while blocking, so if you cheese blocks you'll eventually haemorrhage health. This would simulate the fact that if you spent 90 seconds blocking strikes you would a) get tired and b) your opponent would eventually just start punching round your guard.

I would remove the up/down modifier on blocks because you can block with your legs in real life and nobody seems to be able to do it in fighting games

Laga's ideal fighting game would be endless rounds of this:

That's why the Smash Bros shield system is so good - takes damage and gets smaller over time, allowing it to break or for you to get shield poked.

Perfect, just like the rest of the game

While it was obviously a mistake to turn it into three films I actually quite enjoyed The Hobbit

I like the first one. It's nowhere near the original trilogy though, but it has some great moments.

The Lord of the Rings film series is fine. It's not amazing, and if anything is a little over-long. Don't @ me.

I kind of prefer the first Hobbit movie the levity makes it far more re-watchable to me.

The first was ok, the second was pretty decent, and the third was shite.

I feel the same. I found Bilbo to be more likeable than any of the chacters in LoTR.

I'm not actually a fan of the LoTR trilogy. It's one of those films/trilogies that I can see why people do like it but it's just not for me. I feel the same about the books. I absolutely see why people like them and they essentially kickstarted the fantasy/sword and sorcery genre, so in theory I should love hem. I just find them a slog to try and get through.

This is exactly my position on LOTR. Theyre brilliantly made but I just can't get invested in the story at all and find it dull.
