Are you or have you been approached about a leadership role? You've been there a long time.

No, as they know I’ve been looking for the exit door for the past year.

To be fair, I wouldn't promote someone who can't find the way out of a building either.

I've never had to work in a "call centre" as such but I served my time on a 1st Line IT Service Desk :dread:

I'm actually looking at getting a Chromebook, just waiting for Google to release the Pixelbook Go before I enter the market.

I've been using Chromebooks exclusively for a few year now (at least at home, I still use Windows PCs at work and occasionally at university) and I still get the whole "why don't you use a real computer?". I'm fine with using Windows but I couldn't see myself going back to a "real computer" any time soon.

Just to follow this up, I got a Pixelbook Go today (late Xmas/birthday present) so I'm really looking forward to getting home and having a proper play about with it. Looks to be a very nice, premium looking piece of kit.

I've had to do a load of third line support and dealing with people who should be technical is bad enough. I swear a lot of them don't know the difference between Linux and Windows.

I'm dealing with people who are paid six figures whose job it is to manage severs and they spent ages trying to install and 'exe' on a Red Hat box.

Basically they tried to install a Windows program on a Linux server. I guess if your job wasn't installing stuff on Linux servers it would be forgivable.
