There was a Gameboy Colour platformer planned as well but it got scrapped. Think it was basically a reskin of an existing platformer but I forget which, and why it was cancelled.

I had Chefs Luv Shack on the Dreamcast as well which was just a trivia game.

I had some good 4 player fun with South Park N64. Still have my boxed copy. Probably worth thousands.....

£40-50 if it’s in good nick I’d say.

I'm holding out for thousands :simper:

Well come back to me if you ever lower your standards, I wouldn’t mind a boxed copy of SP.

I have just googled the box art - i don't own it after all  Its Chefs Luv Shak i have. I'm guessing thats worth even more :datass:

Another marketing tactic I liked from Acclaim was sticking Parental Advisory Explicit Content stickers & labels on their games, despite the game not actually being adult enough to garner either a 15 or 18 certificate.

Indiana Jones? Never met the guy.

And a blatant typo in Deathtrap Dungeon.

I'd love to know the type of person that bought all these shitty third party peripherals for the PS1. A one handed controller possibly could have been a very good idea for, say, a disabled player, but that's clearly not what they're positioning it as.

Man, I remember that Auto Modelista ad a few pages back extremely well. Entirely enough there for my 15 year old imagination to fill in the gaps and get the job done.

A bass fishing game nobody bought, a racing game nobody bought, an RPG nobody bought, and an advert for C&VG (2004) and their premium rate text line in which you give them YOUR cheats.

As an added bonus, here's more from some bloke with his cock out in the office the nurse, in a period various gaming publications thought they'd have a second attempt at being lads mags...

1998 (similarities to the Destruction Derby 2 advert) and 2005:

I remember so many of these. At the time they just seemed a bit stupid but looking at them now is just :dread:

There’s no such thing as a low horny point. Literally.

I had kinda forgot just how bad advertising was in the late 90s and early 2000s. You're right about gaming mags copying the lads mags style; I used to really like Future's PlayStation Power mag but then it became "POWER" and much of the content was pretty embarrassing; the editorial as well as the adverts. Every article seemed to have a scantily-clad girl and desperately reaching title; plus pages of porn 0898 numbers at the back of the mag.

Still got 'em in my loft* :shifty: .

* The mags, not the girls.

In some ways Fear Effect 2 was a fairly progressive game (one of the first mainstream games with openly gay characters), the marketing however was not.

Eidos' marketing was often at odds with the games themselves. Either the character(s) were portrayed in a way they didn't act in the game, or the low rent ("massmarket") advertising was incongruous to the difficultly curve of the game.

These ads were embarrassing even at the time, let alone nowadays.
