The salt and the snail one is just disturbing. Who honestly wants to see that?

I think that one is kind of acceptable given the context, I don't think it's actually suggesting that real domestic abuse is funny or anything like that.

It has a similar punkish tone as the Pepperami ads from a few far more years ago than I thought.

PS1 advertising was almost always terrible and crass, but looking back, it's even worse than i remembered it to be.

That Vita one is terrible, not because its particularly offensive but because its just gooseberry fool.

The PSP ads with the white supremacy undertones were significantly worse, generally don't know what they were thinking with that.

The SCUM advert was famously an April Fools joke designed to wind up the press in PlayStation Plus magazine. They faked a preview that was just doctored photographed of their staff It worked and the Daily Star ended up doing a full spread on how outraged they were complete with rent-a-quotes from some MPs.

I think deep down we can all agree that it was the golden era of advertising.

Is it a real advert? . I can't imagine any timeline or situation where someone actually designed that ad and thought "yeah, this is pretty cool". Just astonishing.

I think they knew exactly what reaction it'd get.
