This thread has been hugely entertaining. I can actually remember seeing several of these adverts back in 90s magazines and I still find it hard to believe that some of them ever existed. It's horrendous to think that these adverts were ever acceptable on any level but it's reassuring to know that this gooseberry fool would not fly anymore.

Looking back, it makes total sense why the public image of gaming was "fat nerds in basements" for so long. I couldn't see why back in the day.

I give Jawa’s effort a 6/10. Marks for punmanship, but far too tasteful and featuring insufficient titillation to masquerade effectively as the real thing.

No explosions or nudity dragged it down somewhat for me.
