Because a load of threads is unnecessary. Leave your requests here:

Mine:

i) I like the idea of management games like Football Manager, but I'm a) not keen on football and 2) overwhelmed by all the massive amounts of micro-stats and stuff. Is there anything similar but simpler (simiplar) to get into?

ii) I've been playing a lot of the Nightmare DLC from Resident Evil 7. Running around a level, saving up currency to buy weapons and level up as you survive waves of enemies. Is there anything else like that?

Ta!

I don’t know of anything quite like Football Manager that isn’t sport-related, but a couple of off-the-wall, kind-of-management suggestions would be Surviving Mars and We, The Revolution.

I don't know the mode from Resi 7 but this description just sounds like COD zombies

I'm normally quite a fan of the megathread but I think this is the kind of situation where a specific thread per request makes way more sense and gives more visibility to individual requests and responses

I think we had a similar thread last year/early this year?

If you have a 3DS, try Nintendo Pocket Football Club. It's still a football game obviously but it's all fictionalised so you don't need to be a big football fan to get into it, and it's about as far removed from Football Manager as you can get. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-04-11-nintendo-pocket-football-club-review

It’s not at all like that. There’s a small part of the main game that’s essentially a series of corridors, and the idea is that you kill enemies, create scrap, and buy ammo/weapons to survive more waves of enemies. If anything it’s like Gears of War’s horde mode redux.

FWIW I’m gooseberry fool at it and I hate it.

For quite a while I was hooked on the Raid mode of Resident Evil: Revelaitons 2. It’s not exactly the same setup, but it might scratch the same itch. (Tasty.)

Surviving Mars is a great game. I loved building my colony and just chilling out listening to the eclectic in-game radio. If that floats your boat then Prison Architect is another similar one to that. In the past year Surviving Mars and FM 20 have been given away free on the Epic Games Store so maybe keep an eye out on their freebies as they seem to court management gamers from time to time.

I don't really play Football Manager but have attempted to get into it in the past. If you want to dip your toes in then I believe Championship Manager 01-02 is now freeware (in the mid 00s the developers of the old Championship Manager games started making the Football Manager franchise but the old publishers kept the CM brand). It depends on how much you dislike football. If you absolutely hate it then obviously don't play a football management sim. If you're just a bit apathetic about the sport then maybe it'll grow on you (although Liverpool and Man United have recently announced plans to kill football so it might be best to let that happen and wait for the remastered HD collection).
