Quick question- will playing this spoil any of the TV Series? And if so, up to what point in the series?

It does have a couple of ties, in Episode 1. Not really storyline spoilers, just a couple of characters from season's 1 and 2 of the TV series appear.

They visit Hershel's farm and Glenn makes an appearance.

Different universe though, it's the comic book characters not the TV ones.

Finished this the other night, absolutely loved it. Incredibly tense experience with very solid writing and a memorable cast of characters.

Some spoilery nitpicks:

-I was a bit disappointed that your choices weren't as impactful as I thought they would be, but I do understand why they weren't. It was still very satisfying being able to change the course of the story and the way Lee's persona was conveyed. Due to struggling on picking side, I made him very indecisive at times :shifty:

-I thought Kenny's death was pretty stupid on the route I took (I saved Ben at the belltower). He could have quickly mercy-shot Ben and gone behind the gate with you, why did he stay out with the zombies? :| I was gutted as he was a favourite character, even if I changed my mind on him a lot throughout the game.

I didn't mind that the gameplay was basic, I think there can be more to a game than its nuts and bolts. It was a great story experience that was enhanced by its interactivity. Can't wait for season 2!

I hope series 2 has some actual puzzles to solve.

Just polished off the last two episodes after a two month hiatus.

Well strawberry float.

It's not about puzzles.

First was free and others where half price on Christmas Day.

I also downloaded the album from where the credits songs came from, its pretty amazing, nice folk/blue grass mellow tunes and inspired lyrics.

I know I'm in here kinda late, but I just got this from the Playstation Store.

Has anyone else noticed stuttering/pausing/freezing during gameplay? I'm still on episode one, so haven't checked through the thread in case of spoilers.

It's really irritating; to the point where if it was another game I'd have just switched it off and not returned...the fact that it has stellar reviews and is widely regarded as a great game has kept me going; I got the season pass too.

I don't suppose there's a patch I'm missing? Maybe it's just the PS3 version? Are the other episodes the same?

I'm playing it on 360 and its mostly fine. It's certainly not silky smooth, it has the odd judder, but nothing as bad as you make it sound. The game engine is not the best around, it's a little bit glitchy that's for sure.

Bought this in the Christmas offer and finished it yesterday.

Stories in games are not my thing, 99% of the time they are dreadful and the 1% that are ok are just simply that, [I]ok[I].

But, this was excellent. The story gripped me, I cared about the characters and enjoyed every minute of it. 'er indoors watched me play the whole thing and it really was like we were just watching a movie together. Great stuff.

I played the free first episode and didn't like that the tough moral decisions were down to:

>save farmer with gun
>save child with family

or

>save beta nerd
>save hot chick with gun

Does it become anymore challenging? Will I be haunted by my decisions? Does anything disturbing happen?

I played it on my iPhone which was a bit akward and I had a stiff neck after a while.

Yes the decisions do get a lot tougher than in episode 1. Also stop playing it on an iPhone, this game definitely benefits from a proper lights off, sound up, big screen environment.

Yeah I think I'll pick them all up on PSN. I did enjoy what I played tbf; the characters seem interesting and I liked how it ended on a cliff hanger.

I wish Heavy Rain was as engaging as that.

Yea it reminds me of Heavy Rain, except its actually fun. The characters are great and it genuinely throws some tough decisions your way. So glad I ended up giving this a chance. I'm not really a fan of the show, it bores me and generally this isn't my kind of game.

It's not based on the show, but even so the show is worth sticking with. Season 2 does eventually pick up quite a bit, and season 3 has been superb so far.
