The amount of replies to tweets about the worrying weather trends in the UK even just over the past few years are worrying, people think this is somehow normal and it’s nice weather so enjoy it! Obviously these will be the same people who will be complaining if they get flooded if the heavy rain does come next week.
The weather patterns at the moment are genuinely worrying me

I agree i was looking forward to next week and the temp dropping and getting some fresh clean cool air but looks like its going to go on till at least this time next week even with the thunderstorms predicted and even those don't seem to be dropping temp that much for less humid air
How are people finding the parched grass in their own areas?
In the 2018 heatwave our garden went completely yellow, as did pretty much every patch of grass I spotted in the general vicinity. This time whilst it's still clearly been a dry period the grass is all still green locally - must be that latent Welsh wetness!

Hertfordshire and literally the outside is totally brown everywhere. It was green one day and then 12 hours into the next one all the grass had died. That was the 37c day.
Shaded areas seem to be coping ok ish? Anything exposed to a reasonable amount of sun is unbelievably dry though, this summer really is bringing back memories of 2018, just consistently dry and hot. We’re having so many “once in a generation” types of weather, yet people still think climate change is fake, even to the degree something along the lines of climatescam was trending on Twitter earlier

This is what every London Park looks like:
Almost feel like a BB / BCS scene in Mexico with that orange filter applied to it.

Can confirm that, here in south east London, most grass is yellow and practically burnt. We've barely had a few droplets of rain in... I dunno, months now? Even the "storms" that are apparently arriving next Wednesday look to be bypassing the area again.
Check out all these clear photoshop efforts - the drought is fake news!!!
There is something so off putting about seeing scenes like this in the UK, that it is becoming something more regular definitely highlights how strawberry floated we are

Alright, Chris Martin.
I should probably see a doctor about it to be fair

High Walls festival in King’s Lynn has been cancelled (I wasn’t going, but Therapy? were playing). The fire service told them that because of the dry conditions there would have to be a total smoking ban, on the festival site and campgrounds, and they couldn’t possibly enforce that, so had to pull the plug. Real shame.
Then again, a festival is one of the last places I’d want to be this weekend.
