I’ve had the vertical part of the vent pipe rattling around in its bracket all day. At first I thought the wind was shaking the windows.

I’ve got to travel down to London tomorrow first thing so we will see if it stops the trains in the morning.

Some of my roof tiles have fallen down and damaged our car. Felt like the whole roof was going to come off.

Sorry to hear :(

Our fence blew down; had planned replacing it in the summer anyways, so not too bad, just need to bring that forward.

Round 2 tonight tho :dread:

Surveying the damage this morning, and it's worse than I thought. Around 5 large ridge tiles have come down, damaging the roof as they went, landing on the porch roof and car. The porch roof has a hole in it, and the car has a badly dented roof, drivers door and passenger pillar.

Informed the insurance companies. The home insurance inspector can't come for 2 weeks! I managed to get a local roofing company to come out and assess today though. Problem is the roof tiles we have were long since discontinued and are very unique. I imagine we're looking at replacing all the roof tiles, but insurance won't cover that.

Haven't heard anything from the car insurance company. We have a £200 excess. Hopefully that's all we'll need to pay there.

Lots of snow here, it's lovely! :toot: :toot: I skipped going to uni and went out for a nice walk instead. I'm trying to make the most of it because it probably won't be here for long

Nothing but heavy rain here, which is pretty much business as usual.

Haven't even had any sunshine here now for at least a week.

Had a thin covering of snow this morning, but it started melting pretty quickly.

It's raining at the lower point of our road and snowing as you get higher up. The hill behind us is totally white with snow.

Yeah, it's been a bit wild here in saaf Lundn today; pretty cold, wet and windy but with a couple of moments of sunshine, too. Temperature dropping to 1c overnight.

Have you donated some comfy blankets to the parakeets? They might get chilly.

What a crazy day. A cycle of mild-ish-and-sunny alternating with ridiculous-wind-and-torrential-rain. At around 1700 here in saaf Lundn I was wondering if a tornado had hit. Half-hour later and the sun's out.
