Chesterfield has been the same, muggy, overcast with threats of rain but nothing really happening.

I'm not too big on geography but... maybe Doncaster, Chesterfield and south east London form the three points of some kinda weather triangle? Have we stumbled across the centre point - the cause! - of this hot weather!1!11!?

Is there somewhere that you can check the number of days without rainfall? I'd be quite interested in seeing some of the numbers around that. Of course the forecasts around here have been useless and completely wrong. Very dull today so far, but not much cooler. Last couple of nights have been crazy warm.

I think there was some rain/drizzle in the night near me in SE London, but can't have been much as you wouldn't be able to tell looking at the ground/garden this morning. Though my phone is saying 97% chance of rain today, anytime between now and 6pm.

Feels humid and warm this morning heading to the station, I think rain could well be on the way.

If there was any rain overnight here it was minimal, nothing outside even looked remotely damp at 7 this morning. Thankfully feels a lot fresher though.

EDIT - Alright that'll do. :dread:

Okay, here we go!

In south east London we have had - gasp! - a few spots of rain. Like, literally a few. It's still super muggy.

Supposedly, it's guaranteed to rain during the night. I don't believe it.

Yeah, after 3pm it’s 70% chance of rain all the way through to 9am tomorrow. So I expect flooding.

Yeah according to Apple Weather, its a 90-100% chance of rain from about 5pm till 9am tomorrow morning. Judging by the complete lack of rain, thunder and general inaccuracy of various forecasts (I generally keep tabs on 3) so far I’m just looking out the window for my weather updates

I do appreciate the weather is probably almost impossible to actually predict with any degree of accuracy, the forecast for max/min temperatures seem fairly accurate now though.

Got off the train and found it was steady rain, no thunder, no storminess, just nice refreshing normal rain!

It has absolutely hammered it down for the last couple of hours, much to the relief of my back desert garden :toot:

What do you mean 'normal rain'?

In danger of running this into the ground but I don't care.

Yeah, we've had a bit; not like a downpour or a storm, but a little drizzle over the course of an hour.

It's still hot; 28c / 83f in my flat.
