We had some snow here earlier and I stupidly got my hopes up that it was here to stay. 20 minutes later it stopped. It shouldn't have even bothered. I miss snow.

Went to the supermarket with my son this morning and it was nice and dry. By the time we got back it was torrential rain. There was no parking available so I quickly parked illegally, rushed the shopping inside and then ran back out to park the car in a proper spot.

I managed to find one but by then the torrential rain had turned to hailstones. I picked my my 3 year old and ran home with him. Only to find that in my earlier haste to rush back to the car, I had somehow bent the key to my building.

Sure enough it snapped when I tried to bend it back and me and my son were now drowning in the storm. A kick to the door did nothing, so I buzzed the upstairs flat and begged to be let in. The boyfriend of my neighbour let me in through the intercom. Phew!

I sent my neighbour a text asking her to thank him. She just text back to say not to worry but he was working nights and I had woken him up.

So yeah, that was a successful trip to the shop.

If it helps, my 3 year old was left in the back to guard the car.

Afterwards, your damage report said there were only superficial issues, navicomp was down, slight rupture in fuel pipe 9, and somehow the driver's headset has got jammed on the country and western channel.

My man.

The Met Office appear to have drawn a giant dick over Wales today, which can only mean they're gonna be screwed by Storm Dennis.

It's real windy and rainy here in south-east London now. The wind is rattling through my parakeet-ravaged soffits... the noise is so annoying :x .

The wind and rain has just stepped up a gear. Dang, it's rough out there!

Maf, bit of an diversion in topic, but how old are you and what do you do at college? I swear it feels like you've been mentioning going for about 5 years now.

I’m inside so didn’t see the lightning, but we just had the loudest thunder clap I’ve ever heard. My entire flat was shaking.

We've lost three fence panels in a week thanks to the wind.

No, the thunder clap was later than that.

Although there has been loads of devastation across the county Storm Dennis has been pretty tame from my own personal experience, Ciara was much more exciting around our area. It rained a lot on Saturday but that was about it.
