Jeez, how on earth do you get imgur to show the image on here? :shifty:
Edit: Did it.

Okay but those are Macs, where do you get your actual work done? ;)

Yeah sorry, I'm the Mac guy. :toot:
Can't stress enough how suboptimal this is. At work I'll either use two of these 27 Thunderbolt monitors, or my 30" Pro Display XDR. Struggling to get comfortable.

Spent so much on overpriced tech can’t even afford a proper stand for the laptop.

This is me. Awkward mix between "professional analyst" and "semipro Pokemon player" on my kitchen table, because I don't have a proper desk (or room for a proper desk).

I’ve got a tiny penis laptop screen and that’s it. I’m used to 3 screens and a proper desk so my work rate is badly suffering....oh yeah I do strawberry float all anyway. 8-)

This is mine. Granted I haven't actually done any work on it thus far because my work involves seeing patients (obviously can't do that at home!) and analysing patient images (theoretically possible but network currently not fast enough to be feasible). All I can do at home is a monthly competency test, and a tiny amount of admin, so once that's done it's nurse the little one through an absolutely not Covid-19 cough then go back to work and see what the hell I'll be doing because the government has just banned diabetics from leaving the house so we're not expecting many attendees :slol:

I can't really complain about how my firm have handled this (I'm a team leader in the IP industry). They've sent regular updates over the past several weeks, and it's now all come to a head as all 5 offices closed tonight with us all working from home. Those that can't work from home, for various reasons, will still receive full pay (for now, at least!) They've provided laptops or PCs for the vast majority of staff (around 300 people), relaxed core hour and overtime rules, assigned various HR/mental health contacts for any issues that come up etc. etc. The IT team especially deserve a medal for all they've done.

I have a laptop and monitor and am all set up to the network. We will see how it holds out with so many people logging in tomorrow. My back is going to strawberry floating kill sitting in my kitchen chair for hours at a time, though.

Still a work in progress, cabling needs sorting and the light bars need to be stuck on the back of the bottom screens.

Work mode :slol:

I refuse to sully this thread with a picture of my macbook sat on the kitchen table next to the morning post and a can of coffee.

Why would you ruin a can by putting coffee in it?

First full day of doing this and it all feels quite surreal.

Fair play to MS Teams — it's very good!

We have this on our work laptops, but all I ever use it for is sending gifs to people in chat.

I genuinely don't know what would have happened if this pandemic hit four or five years ago before everyone was using Teams or Slack.

Our IT team are supposedly pushing out MS Teams to us all early. I'm not particularly sure what it will do better, as we already use Skype for Business. I work for the council though, so you can imagine how much of an ordeal pushing out new software would be, let alone earlier than planned.
