That’s cool, yeah it looks like it’s the physical complete edition.

Does this have a lot of hidden secrets if you explore the world? I love open world games that reward you for exploring by finding hidden caves or Easter eggs and stuff.

Yeah there’s lots to do in the overworld, loads of stuff to find alongside some fantastic side quests too. Bit too many treasure chests to find in my opinion, kind of burnt out on getting them all when I got to Skellige though.

Then you're going to love this.

Yes the areas are packed full of secrets, all hand placed. Every single interaction is fully voice acted too, to the point where it's very hard to tell what's a main quest and what's a little side thing. Amazing game.

Yep comfortably one of my favourite games of the last decade, an incredible experience from start to finish.

I 'only' got 70 hours in and i feel.i barely scratched the surface of the game.

I think I ended up somewhere around 150 hours, and I still felt like I could have spent longer in the world!

One of the things about the game that I still find impressive now is just how much it made me care about what was happening, and how well it conveyed a sense of importance or consequence to events. Even the smallest of side quests had a clear justification, a very human reason for the activity you were undertaking - who you were helping, why it was important to them, how it was related to the place they inhabited within the world etc.

I've been dipping back into Cyberpunk again recently and it stands in sharp relief to this game in that sense - I just don't give a flying strawberry float about anyone or anything in Cyberpunk, the content really is all filler, even the main missions feel pointless or inconsequential half of the time. Basically the polar opposite to how I feel about this game.

I think everyone has experienced consequence with the bloody baron side quest, where it's the first time you realise that choices really can totally change the story and not in a LOL GOOD CHOICE BAD CHOICE, but from just the way you respond to someone.

You don’t need to have played the first 2 tho right? Is this quite self contained?

There's a lot of implied history but you should be alright as they tell you everything you need to know. Even The Witcher 1 followed directly after the books so you're in a similar lore situation wherever you start in the trilogy.

You absolutely don't need to play them. There are relationships and interactions that will have some more depth to them if you are familiar with the previous games (and the books) but it's by no means a deal breaker - I know lots of people who jumped in on this entry and still found the characters and story to be excellent and coherent

If you really wanted to, you could blast through the Netflix series to witness some of the early history.

Does it feature scenes of naked men in a bath?

In my NG+ of this I'm stuck on one of those Ciri quests. I'm in a swamp battling those drowned lads and Wild Hunt wolves and it's just really hard OR It's going to take me ages (as ciri essentially has infinite boosting ability I can get in 1 hit and skedaddle). I've popped it onto the Series X internal SSD for quick retries.

Other than that though, even pre next gen patch, just using it's 1X enhancements it's 4K 60.

Pretty sure you can adjust the difficulty on the fly if you really need to, unless you're going for the achievement to do it on a harder difficulty?

I think that's the first thing you see in the game

Oh and team Triss, always.

I'd go with Triss, but I'd be thinking of Yennefer

Not at all but I've played it at same difficulty (normal) throughout my first play through (about 120hrs) and now a few dozen hours into this new game+, there's no actual merit to this I can see but I've been stuck on parts before and got past so I'll stick with it for now, I want to get it out of the way for the actual upgrade...

Team Triss all the way, Yennefer can do one!

When I play it again, when the next gen patch is out I’m definitely going with Triss  Went Yennefer first time through as it seemed the right thing

The Game does seem to push you to be with Yennefer but if you think about it, she treats Geralt with disdain almost all the time. :x
