Do not rush it! I completed the main story yesterday and despite having the DLC feel a void now that it's over. I'd like to do an NG+ play through but simply can't spare another 100hours or whatever it'll take... maybe later down the line.

MY saved game has a bug where I level up every 1000xp rather than 2000, so I'm overlevelled for the DLC anyway. Might go back to the last save before the bug and do what I missed the first time.

Hearts of Stone has some of the best quests in the game. It definitely has the best antagonist.

Finished this today, epic. I was a little let down by the ending.

I saved ciri, she survived to be a witcher and I retired with yennifer. the down side was I didn't trigger the radovid bonus quest by being nice to djkstra.... So radovid survived and became a twat, killing everyone.

I've got a save but it's about 5 hours + earlier so a lot of rework, I certainly don't have the time for NG+. I plan to go back and have radovid die and ciri become empress.

Restarted this recently and got further than ever before. I'm level 11 and I'm on the streets of Novigrad. Everything is brilliant. And this is a weird thing to get fixated on, but the dress Triss wears is something else. The shiny material, and specifically how the colour of it looks in the lighting engine, is just stunning. And walking around with her I'm just mesmerised watching the train's physics react to the ground and her heels. I... don't know how to talk about this without sounding like I have some sort of dress fetish, but I'm just impressed with the graphical properties of it.

I think it's a DLC costume, but the thing is, it looks ridiculous at this point in the story. She's supposed to be in hiding, yet she's walking around dressed in elegant, magical-looking, clearly-a-sorceress finery with a stupid hood up as if that's going to throw people off the scent.

He's not really the antagonist. I meant Gaunter.

Team yennefer, the outfits were awesome for the pair of them.

This morning I had a quick look for the witcher 2, had jo idea it was never released on PS3... Remake for PS4 needed.

Started playing that on Sunday after it was added to the Xbox One BC and aside from the noticeably low resolution it hasn't aged that badly at all.

Aye, that's the one. Not such a fan of it from the front due to that ridiculous plunge. But that material in motion. Good god.

Nah. Too sexual to be sexy. Too much tit to be titillating. It's a real turn-off.

Are side quests as a general rule failed by moving on to the next main chapter in the story? Just completed the prologue chapter and got hit with two open side quests failing (although I thought something like that would happen with one of them), assuming I could just jump back in whenever in the style of a Bethesda RPG.

Should I just complete everything I come across?

It is much better for it though, creates a proper sense of a world that moves on and doesn't necessarily wait on the actions of a single person.

Try to complete the side quests as it enhances the experience. Such a wonderful title that has an atmosphere unmatched by any other videogame this generation. Some of the characters you meet along the way on your sidequests are so memorable. Complete the game to the fullest and then get that dlc. Can't wait for blood and wine to hit and reckon it will really be a fitting end to the franchise. With the next big title not even out until 2017/18 we won't be getting another witcher for a long time!

Generally the side-quests which can be failed by progressing story missions are given by named supporting characters rather than some random farmer who wants you to kill a vampire.

Definitely do them all though, in some cases you'll miss out story stuff if you don't do them.

When is blood and wine going to get released? I cannot wait, but it will certainly be sad knowing we won't get another witcher for a long while!

It will indeed be sad. The Witcher is one of the few games that makes the conversations with people interesting. I find myself choosing several side conversation choices before the main ones.
