Just did Beyond Hill and Dale. :datass: That area was gorgeous. I was so busy walking around admiring the scenery I stepped on Thumbelina and killed her. :slol:

It's funny how much better the Hearts of Stone antagonist is than the actual Wild Hunt.

So how long would you say Hearts of Stone is? Got a code off eBay for £4.95 so looking forward to getting back in to The Witcher.

Probably 10 hours on average, took me 15 since I really take my time.

Good to hear, I'd take my time too and clear up everything I can.

As Im starting again (and from the sounds of it i made a complete strawberry float up of the last time i played it :slol: ) The 2 expansions, are they to be played after I've completed the main game or during?

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Both are to be played when in mid 30's level wise but I played and finished Heart of Stone (first DLC) before I finished main campaign. Second one is better played after you finish main game. I started Blood and Wine at level 38 and it's still hard

Only got two base-game Gwent cards left to find and they're both in Velen. Let's do this.

Random wolves and bandits in Blood and Wine are like twenty levels higher than the Wild Hunt. Save the expansions for post-game.

DA: Inquisition didn't take. Will carry on with W3 death march for a bit yet.

Yeah, other than sensing and experiencing they were not be taken lightly, I didn't find them in the least bit interesting. (Maybe because I didn't play the first game, or read the novels.)

Regarding the spoiler: I would love to see the stats on that, because I did the exact same.  I saw the village, thought oh coo- *squish* gooseberry fool. (Thinking back on it, I'm pretty sure it was partly her fault because I heard her screaming and so ran as quickly as possible to see what was wrong.)

I enjoyed the animation of Geralt scraping her off his shoe.

Can someone help me get back into this?

I think something that I never got was how crafting works in upgrading armour or finding armour/weapons in general. I never knew where the best places to look and whether I should be looking for the secret stuff as I heard conflicting issues that some were simply not worth it.

You'll find rare weapons and armour doing quests. Until you get to Touissant, witcher gear you've crafted is the best armour you can find. Looks the best too.

Quests called Scavenger Hunts will lead to the crafting diagrams you need to build witcher gear.

Yes, the most recent patch redesigned the UI. If you need a potion or to craft something, it's usually a good idea to try finding a herbalist or dismantling things you've picked up at a armourer/weaponsmith. Also, just pick up any and all crafting gear and herbs you find, they weigh next to nothing so there's no reason not to.

Does Hearts of Stone integrate into the main game, or is it just as well playing through the whole of Wild Hunt then getting HoS later?

It's better off doing both of the expansions after completing Wild Hunt. They're separate stories so outside of maybe one or two lines that change based on your decisions in the base game, they're not linked.

Remember when you moaned at me for saying DS was a grind? :shifty:

Works both ways my friend.

There's an option to play the expansions separately with a stock Geralt and gear but don't know why anyone would want to do that.

Brerlappin wrote:The inventory is still garbage even after all the updates. Confusing and cluttered layout.
In the end I just used the console to give me the superior bear armour because otherwise id have to go find the quest to find the previous, lesser version of the armour, track down all the parts, then craft that, then use that to craft the superior armour. Absolutely stupid. I also added the unlimited weight mod, I don't know how anyone could play without it. Picked up a handful of things and youre over your limit. I spent so much time fiddling around in the inventory that getting rid of the weight limit was essential. Like honestly I do love this game but jesus so much of the actual gameplay is pure garbage.

If you've got decent saddlebags, you shouldn't be reaching max inventory that often. You've got stashes for stuff you really want to keep like witcher gear but most stuff you should be selling.

Cool. I usually don't like to get DLC in advance of finishing the main game in case I get bored and never play it, so good to know I won't be missing anything.

The sluggish response when moving Geralt is top of my list. So bloody infuriating trying to position him just to pick up loot or herbs etc. And when you add Roach to the mix :dread:

And the slight delay in opening menus or moving through tabs really grinds the game down.
