One of my biggest gripes re the menu is that blade oils aren't part of a quick access menu. And yes, once you get your head around the menu it's simple enough, but it's one of the least intuitive (and slow) menus I've ever used.

The sluggish response when moving Geralt is top of my list. So bloody infuriating trying to position him just to pick up loot or herbs etc. And when you add Roach to the mix :dread:

And the slight delay in opening menus or moving through tabs really grinds the game down.

I've not found Geralt to be particularly sluggish when using the newer control option. For me the niggle around interacting with the world is not moving Geralt, but in getting the game to realise which of the 2+ things close in front of him I would like to interact with, seriously Geralt stop lighting candles when I want to pick gooseberry fool up!

The menus have improved over time, but I must admit I found the latest update a bit confusing at first, having become so used to the previous layout. One thing that I think is straight up worse with the new menus is the lag in showing descriptions of things in your inventory - before the little pop up saying what the item was appeared almost instantly, now it seems to take a second or two to appear. So when I invariably can't remember which icon represents the oil or potion I am looking for I have to spend ages slowly highlighting each one, waiting for the description to appear, realising it's not the one I wanted, before repeating.

And yes, when you invariably end up with too many crafting components/alchemy ingredients it does seem to introduce some lag in opening those sections of the inventory.

Overall though these niggles can't do anything to erode just how phenomenal this game is overall.

I spent so much time fiddling around in the inventory that getting rid of the weight limit was essential. Like honestly I do love this game but jesus so much of the actual gameplay is pure garbage.

I've gone over my weight limit about 3 times in total, you need to buy stuff to upgrade how much you can carry, blaming the game is nonsense, cheating is also nonsense.

Saddlebags improve max carry weight. I went over it a number of times and saw it as the game letting me know I needed to sell to gooseberry fool. Going over limit mid mission sucked, though. That happened way too often.

That could be annoying - only happened to me twice I think, largely because I was a bit of a hoarder. There is a decoction you can brew which temporarily increases your carry weight, this was helpful in allowing me to continue mid-quest when I would have otherwise had to dump stuff of find someone to sell all my crap to!

Good to see the hours played log now works. I think it used to just click back to 0 every 24 hrs previously (so not actually broken and therefore now reading correctly and accurately for game time to date).

The scarily thing is it means I have played over 60 hours in 3 and a half weeks.

Apparently it took me 122 hours 38 minutes to do the base game, both expansions, every quest (bar that stupid one where you're finding books for some hermit on an island) and finding every Gwent card.

Where did you get that info? I thought the game time got reset with the various updates?

Talking of updates - more of them. I have never seen a game that has been so well supported post launch. I will likely get their new game purely based on their attitude towards gamers.

See? This is exactly why I cannot have this game, there is no way I can't invest that amount of time playing it. Which is such a shame as it's an amazing game.

Where do you find play time stats?

Go into your inventory and have a look in lower right corner of screen. It'll tell you what to press to display player stats. (On PS4 it's R2.) Total play time will be displayed at bottom of the stats window.
That's how it worked pre big patch, anyway.

Cheers. And here I thought it would be in options menu

One of the updates a while back added a "responsive" control system as an alternate to the default controls. Not sure which menu it's available on now but switching to it made Geralt much more responsive to control.

Pause game > gameplay (I think. It's definitely in one of the pause screen options.)

Finally found it and it's made A big improvement (still not perfect and at times infuriating)

Nearly 10 days on one game! Embarassed or proud? Will post mine later.

It is an absolutely fantastic game, but i am a little embarassed at how addicted i got. I remember waking up early and playing this before work.

The funny thing is the gameplay isn't that revolutionary, its just the way in which you feel part of the the world - escapism at its best.
