Loving blood and wine. I've only spent a small amount of time on the main quest and have focused on the side quests. Mainly because everything is so expensive and it costs a bomb to craft the grandmaster wolven gear.

Running around the countryside tackling bandit lairs is strawberry floating amazing. There was one fight where i ended up fighting 20 bandits and their guard dogs over a river. It was utter carnage, the river was just full of floating bodies.

Just got to the wedding quest in Hearts of Stone and it's pretty much my favourite thing in the game so far.

Geralt dancing! And flirting! And chasing pigs!

Better than all of the campaign's final missions combined (not that they were bad)

That whole section with von Everec was *much* better than I expected it to be.

Hearts of Stone is an extremely strong quest line. Stronger than Blood and Wine and definitely the main quest.

Now whilst I really enjoyed Hearts of Stone it didn't stand that much above what was in the main game for me (and I personally found the Bloody Baron quest line to be much better), perhaps because I came to it late and had my expectations raised by people giving it so much praise.

Loving Blood and Wine so far. So much to do and see and none of it feels like filler!

Just finished Blood and Wine. What an expansion! and the perfect end to a fantastic game. I really can't wait to see what CD Project do next.

The attention to detail is just astounding - blood and wine could pass for a separate game, it looks so beautiful!

I really don't want this to end. Despite finishing the main stories in the main game and both expansions I've been playing it loads more today. Just exploring the world and completing side quests

Well, I forgot how distressing the bloody baron quest line was.

Finished off the main quest in Blood & Wine last night. Possibly the best questline in the entire game and considering how good Hearts of Stone and many of the them in the base game were, that's saying something. An excellent story told by developers who have mastered their craft and are working at the top of their game. Brilliant characters, locations, twists, all executed to near perfection. The entire thing feels like a real labour of love and it shows. I already thought The Witcher 3 was outstanding but between Wild Hunt, Hearts of Stone, and now Blood & Wine, it's unquestionably an all-time great.

GotY GOAT Edition confirmed:

UPDATE 1PM BST: CD Projekt Red has, in a statement given to Eurogamer, confirmed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition.

Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz told us: "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a gigantic effort for the entire studio, and both the team and me were amazed by the good reception of Geralt's adventures. Since launch, we've released two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, which added a lot of new adventures to the already potent mix.

"With all the free DLC and updates the game received so far, including significant changes to the game's interface and mechanics, many gamers have asked us if we're working on some sort of a Game of the Year Edition. I'm happy to confirm - yes, plans are in motion to release such an edition. We'll release more details, including the release date, in the future. In the meantime, I'd like to thank every fan of the game for their support - you're really amazing!"

Having just finished this it made me remember I bought witcher 2 for like £3 in a sale a few years back but never played it. I have to say it has a great opening and I feel the combat is as good as 3 if not better.

Strange to play them in wrong order and its weird seeing characters when I know what happens to them. Kingslayer in particular. Makes sense why the others hated him!

Just finished B&W, what a game. Sets the bar for this gen. I could do with another DLC or two.

Hopefully they've kept something back for the GOTY edition.

Swiped from GAF wrote:I installed this mod 2 days ago and can only recommend it to you guys.

It's a complete overhaul of the game's mechanics and some parts of it are so well made they feel like they should have been in the game to begin with.

Here are some features :

- real time and useful meditation, you can see Geralt sit down and light a fire, and you need wood to create it (you can turn off the wood requirement)

- No auto potions and bombs refill, you need to earn them and be careful when to use them

- Potions actually last very long as a counterpart

-All skills are active after you unlocked them, I couldn't stand in the vanilla version how you couldn't enjoy the skill you just unlocked unless you removed another one in a slot. It made it so in both expansions, my Geralt didn't make any progress and I couldn't spend the 20 skill points I unlocked because my slots were full. Now you don't have to trade, once you've unlocked it, it's yours !

- Less health, more damage ! Now battles are over quickly and demand high concentration. Any mistake can be deadly. And most importantly, no more bullet sponges !
It was ridiculous how simple bandits could withstand 50+ sword hits from Geralt when they could kill you in two hits with a simple mace.
Now everyone can die in a few hits. Except monsters, because they are supposed to be might and scary.

- Everything can be adjusted to your liking. You think this monster's too strong ? lower his damage input in the menu.

I'm probably forgetting many aspects but you should check out the mod's page and most importantly, the Youtube video explaining all the features :

http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1814/?

I must warn you though, the mod's getting updated once or twice a day by the creator so if you don't want to bother updating it so often, I would recommand waiting a week or so.

Forgotten so much of this. And the story is so well done.

When geralt finally finds ciri
And the whole Kaer Morhen battle at the end. Completely forgot about Vesemir :(

Im almost at the point i think Im ready for the DLC. Im level 30, will this be acceptable or not? I found a griffin in the middle of skellige with ?? above his head. My weapons didn't even make a dent :dread:

Level 30 is the game's recommended level for starting Hearts of Stone but that's really the minimum you should be. I think I was about 34 with mastercrafted witcher gear.

One question - if I sell my physical copy and buy the digital vanilla release, will my existing saves work? Digital is the way forward especially as we don't get proper manuals or even boxart anymore!

So i finished it, again, but this time got a much better ending, didn't plough through it like i did back when it launched. What a wonderful wonderful game, the ending sequences are so well done, ties up plot lines gives you a decent ending/fight. It all just seemed amazing this time. Put in well over 120 hours into the main game, bought the SP for £20, just started hearts of stone now

Question, do any of the main game characters show up again?
