I don't think so, I could be wrong though cos I did Heart of Stone like 2 thirds into the game and unlike the last DLC which is a new area, HOS is an additional number of quests that are in the main world. I think THINK I rode a girl but can't be too certain, also think it was Triss but again could be the main story overlapping. #teamtriss

Heart of Stone does have a couple of main character of its own, also, it's harder than the main game in places, I finished the main game AFTER it and it was far easier.

I cracked and bought the GOTY edition. *So* weak . I probably won't play it until 2019 or something . A combination of videogamerTV and Photek's love for the game tempted me to dive in.

But... hey, this is meant to be pretty good, right? Beyond the horse steering and "Just pick it up, Geralt!" troubles, the actual adventure looks really good.

Yes!

There's no guarantee you'll like it, of course, but if you do, the value you'll get out of the GOTY Edition is insane. If you started it now, you wouldn't even finish until 2019 so best get cracking.

Thanks, 'Dave. I wasn't sure about it at the time of release and I've held off since. But, seeing the value on offer with this pack and reading back over this thread, I was tempted to try it out. I suspect that, when I start it, it'll take over my gaming life for quite a while!

I think the complete GOTY edition is something like fifty-odd gigabytes so I'll probably be downloading from PSN for thirty hours or something .

Hopefully it enthralls you as much as it did me, one of my favourite gaming experiences ever. The Witcher lore can be quite daunting to jump into so I recommend reading this before starting it up when you eventually do. Don't worry, you don't need to do any extensive reading to get up to speed, it's just a little infographic to get the fundamentals of the different factions, kingdoms and story so far.

Definitely try out Gwent too, I ignored it for the first 10 hours as I usually do with mini-games but it's a lot of fun, so much so that I'm looking forward to its standalone game more than most big name releases.

That's brilliant - thanks, 'Dave! I haven't played a game in the series before and I must admit that I wasn't keen on having to spend ages working out the story background... but that simple summary is gonna be ideal!

I'm not sure if I'll start it that soon as my gaming time is currently divided between No Man's Sky and Devlin's Mario Maker contest... but I am looking forward to it .

I gave up on this after maybe 20 hours due to other releases (short attention span gamer, I'll admit) but I don't think I gave it the attention it deserved. What I did play of it I loved, I've still got the game so I might move it up a few slots in my "to play" list.

My favourite game for many years, it got me back into gaming in a serious way and had me so engrossed. The last time i felt like i was part of a medievil world was in elder scrolls oblivion! I love how the game improved over the year with those patches and the dlc was actually value for money!

I do hope cd projekt don't let this success get to their heads and continue on with the same attitude.

I didn't know any of the lore, most of the characters reveal the back stories anyway.

Just finished Heart of Stone.

Well, what an experience, it puts other "full" games to shame. Its taken well over 20 hour to get to the end, and the story arc was amazing. Mirror was a nasty piece of workand the way it all played out was just wonderful

Starting Blood and Wine now, if its half the quest this was, Im in for a treat.

FWIW I knew nothing of any of the previous games, it all explains it well, and you can get involved as you want, the character back stories are all kept in a handy place.
