Oh I know it's going to be a whole load of nothing, it's just the satisfaction of doing something so difficult.

I did it the other week 8-) I got lucky right at the end where the music had stopped but it still counted.

I was streaming it on mixer at the time but I just went to get the link and it appears streams expire :| the music seems to end about 6:40 and I think you get 7:00 to complete it, so that would give 20 extra seconds.

The maze route is based on the 2nd puzzle you do on the table. I took a photo of that before solving it and then use that as my map for the maze later on. The route you draw on that 2nd puzzle is the route you need to follow in the maze, with the 2 black dots denoting the locations of the 2 puzzles you need to solve in the maze.

Yeah I'd found that out, so I've started cancelling runs based on that table if the route looks overly complex. In my best run that tour was something like left right left with both panels next to each other and a simple line straight out.

The puzzle I found trickiest was after the table puzzle with the 4 puzzles on the walls... The one where you had a green and yellow line and had to draw a route in to each corner

I swear there is some hidden trolling going on with the difficulty ramping up the more attempts you make in one session, as I got to the end pillars again within a few goes and then it just hit me with borderline impossible line puzzles for ages right near the start for what must have been an hour. Also every time I had a really easy route through the maze on that table, I wouldn't be able to get past the panel set before the maze, yet whenever I had a ridiculous route that you'd struggle to navigate with an ordinance survey map, suddenly all the stuff just before it was piss easy, but I'd then just be endlessly walking around the maze getting nowhere.

banana split game.

same time tomorrow :datass:

It's been throwing me twatty panels near the start for an hour now so I'll come back another day.

Thing is, it IS easy, and I'm sure a lot of the problem is me trying to do the first bit so quickly when you've really got longer than you think.

One run I had a dream layout on the table, up one to the first panel then all the way to the right, panel on the left-hand then straight out. The next puzzle after the table was a green and yellow line one that was bloody impossible.

I pretty much never gave up an attempt, apart from very few occasions where I was literally staring at some of the earlier puzzles for close to 30 seconds and still not having a clue.

If you can get to the maze at around the point of it going from song 1 to song 2 you should have plenty of time still. When you get to the final room with the two pillar puzzles though it might be worth muting the TV  that finale buildup nearly strawberry floated my successful run up as I panicked and restarted the 2nd pillar as the music was ending.

I treated it like an online racing game... even if you're running way behind, it only take another car to make a complete strawberry float up (in this case get a run of easy puzzles) and the unwinnable game becomes winnable. Plus it's good exercise for the brain.

I did often get stuck on those 4 random order wall puzzles with the yellow/green line one. Sometimes if I hadn't used much time I'd deliberately get it wrong, run back to the puzzle before that to reset it and then get an easier one. It's hard to use that technique on those 4 though as it's quite a long run from puzzle to puzzle.

Also on Xbox one trigger was sprint, but the other trigger is to draw puzzle lines quicker. That can save you a few seconds when you have to draw the long, less fiddley lines.

BID0 I took your advice and stopped restarting every time I thought it was a lost cause and did it on my 5th go.

Edit: my run. A few strawberry float ups there and I only connected the line on the very last panel because time was up, I could believe it was actually right

Congrats  I didn’t even know there was a shortcut on the 4 puzzle section between the two on the upper level :fp: I always ran down, around and up

You did it a little quicker than me. That last puzzle is tense when The Mountain King gets louder and louder and faster and faster and you freeze trying to figure it out

My fav game I’ve played this year so far. Hoping to play Witcher 3 thoygh before the end of 2018!

That start bit is embarrassing to watch back, so many times I'm through those first 3 and table in what must be sub 8 seconds. Thank goodness I didn't bail out on the third one like I normally would have.

I went on to do the very last hidden line I needed to finish of the last oblisk. A whole bloody hour to do it :dread: strawberry float you Blow, even worse being once you've done it there's Absolutely no pay off. I'd noticed little fountains appearing in the central pond along with the water level dropping each time, so kind of expected something to be revealed. All I saw was a woman in the corner of it holding a cube :|

It's a shame we'llnever get another one of these because I loved it.

Thanks Still :toot:

I think I've enjoyed reading Ad's posts in this thread about his journey to completion far more than I ever enjoyed this game myself. Puzzlers like this just really aren't for me, but it's great to see how consuming and satisfying other people have found it.

After an eighteen-month break, I have wandered back into The Witness and I'm slowly picking up the ropes again. But I've hit a wall with the puzzle above. I've done the left-hand part but the right-hand one is baffling. I can't figure out a way through it.

The symbols are the same - and in the same places - as the ones in the left-hand puzzle - but the amount of squares is lower and I can't devise a path through. So... help? Help!

The panel on the left is teaching you that the shapes have to be contained in their own shape, the one on the right is teaching you that the shapes can be drawn anywhere, as long as the shape is still contained within the loop.

Hint 1: think about moving the shapes around

Have a good go before reading hint 2.

Hint 2: they don't have to be drawn in order

Hint 3 (partial solution starter): draw the long shape on the far left first

Its important you figure it out rather than look up a solution because you need to understand the rules, as later puzzles incorporate multiple rules from different puzzles on them.
