Some of the refereeing so far has been unbelievably bad. Another gem at the end of that game.

I really have no idea how the standard of refereeing can be this poor. Surely they have to go through the same tests etc as the men?

There have been others but it's hard to find highlights for most of the games.

I saw the Japan game live and nobody seemed 100% sure what the ref had given. To give a penalty which lead to the only goal of the game was shocking.

That confused me - I've never known Germany to play in red.

Just seen this on Twitter. There are probably better versions of it, but what on earth was the defender doing? And how was a penalty not awarded?!

That was at the 2011 tournament, although the standard of refereeing at this one hasn't been great.

Four minutes of stoppage time at the end of Australia v Nigeria.
But look again: the game ends after 70 seconds.

I knew that
the overall standard of refereeing does seem to have been declining over the past few years. Fingers crossed for robot refs within in the next couple of seasons.

We're doing better now. Just need a goal before half time.

Totally, Mexico don't look like doing much, but you never know with some of the distance goals in women's football sometimes.
