Depends on whether;

1) How many people are in the meeting,
2) Whether I'm going to say anything
3) Whether I want to play on my phone.

This died off pretty quickly in our place. When we all started wfh it was mandated thst cameras be on, but ever so slowly people stopped using them, and now it's rare to see anyone, which is fine by me.

Every week is shite. I can think of a million things I'd rather be doing. Gotta grind it out though.

Screaming in my head when I have to work at this point. Feel so burnt out - desperately need a holiday, and a change in company. Trying to make it to end of year so I've got a cushion of cash to live from for a few months if needs be.

Same here, except without the cash cushion. I’m desperate to be able to not work for 3-6 months and concentrate on research and stuff, as I have a couple of projects I’m really excited about but just too tired to work on after a shift in the office. I don’t hate my actual job at the moment, but I’ve been ready to move on for a long time now and feel stagnant.

Yesterday I applied for the position of HCA on General Theatres. Been meaning to do it for a while, but all HCA applications were temporarily frozen at the hospital this year due to over employing last year through the pandemic.

Got to phone a guy later today about a possible interview for a fully remote IT role for a college. Will be interesting to speak to him to find out more about it, from what I've heard working for colleges isn't exactly the best place to work in IT.

Have only applied for one job and got a message back with an interview next week. Really promising for future prospects, even if this one doesn't go anywhere.

Depends.

People in education tend to stay there. Generally people in education tend to be pretty all rounder in what they do there is less "desktop", "server", "networks" and more "IT" so you do some of everything, from things I've heard and seen from people I know who are ex education they have a tendancy to have some bad habits and practices.

Some IT people have a downer on people from Education so thats something to bare in mind as it "might" impact you later if you want to leave education. Eductation and NHS tend to be places when once you go in you dont come out.

Had a phone interview during lunch. Their ticket target a day is less than half of what I'm currently doing which is amazing, but they're not willing to go above what I'm already on and I'd have to go to London so strawberry float that lmao. I specifically said I want fully remote, but they're like you'd need to go to London once every two weeks and that's only until January, we might be fully back in the office from then. I'm not only not leaving my fully remote and possibly fully remote in future role that my office is 5 minutes away to go work for the same amount of money only to end up having less each month and less time due to commuting to London.

Interview was for another MSP so not whatever that College thing was, god knows what that was at the end of it all.

Got an internal interview coming up at 11, going to be held over teams, it’s a crossways and slightly up move to a new department but the role I have been doing currently does have similarities to this new one.

Do you have a lack of staff currently? Because while it may not look busy to them, it depends on the amount of workers they have to do the work. They often don't take that into consideration because of how detached they are.

We do have a severe lack of staff which they say they know about, but they don't seem to care.
