Malcolm in the middle was a truly great show.

Is it streamable anywhere?

I've just started a rewatch of this in the past week. I forgot how good it was!

Work has quietened down a bit so the overbearing micromanaging is starting again.

I'm 10 calls behind someone else and there's people with lower calls than me, but of course they come at me complaining. strawberry float em. I'm almost always top of the stats and you they say strawberry float all.

Sent my CV to a recruiter guy about a fully remote application today - not heard back yet but he said I might be interested in it so here we go.

I truly think some managers will just never understand that micromanagement breeds anxiety which can worsen the performance of somebody who confidently does their job without the need for managerial oversight.

It's fear-based management and if that culture isn't going to change and you're fed up with it then you should absolutely be looking for another job.

I've never understood why any manager wants to micromanage. I have as little involvement as I possibly can because it makes my life much easier. Don't do that gooseberry fool unless there is a good reason for it!

Question for the floor:

You're in a Teams meeting and you can see someone talking but they're on mute. Do you say:

a) "I think you're on mute, [name]."
b) "You're on mute, [name]."

(Hint: allow yourself a tiny shred of self-confidence!)

c) say nothing and watch the person waste their time.

Do I like said person?

If I do then I would say something.

If I don't I would say nothing and just talk over them like a prick.

Don't you end up wasting your own time, assuming they eventually realise and have to repeat everything?

You briefly shared a kiss outside a chippy after the 2018 Christmas party but you haven't talked about it since.

Depends if I can see the mute icon - if so then it's b), if not then it's "[name] we can't hear you"

Bloody hell mate, that would be the longest relationship I have had in years. I would feign ignorance as say nothing.

Oh and B.

Hang on, how do you feign ignorance? Do you just sort of sit there nodding along, pretending you can hear what they're saying?

This is assuming you can see the mute icon, although I will accept both of your answers.

When they finally realise they are muted they will ask you why you didn't mention it. Oh, sorry I didn't realise you were talking, I was looking at the documents.

I had a 3 hour client call with cameras on today. Greatly excessive. Camera on is so much more tiring than in person.

Where is option C - shout "UNMUUUUUTE!" whilst overforming the words with your lips and tapping your ear?
