But now, in light of the current state of the world, I've come to realise that I cannot in good conscience work in aid of the police in any capacity.

I think I'd rather be back at UPS. :dread:

I would suggest doing everything in your power to change what you can internally. The police are always going to be a part of life, it's going to require those in positions like yourselves to do what you can. If only terrible folk are left in police roles, we'll be more strawberry floated than we are now.

Sounds like an odd stance to take. What is your role?

Unless you're in the business of the manufacturing of police riot gear I would suggest you could do your job guilt free.

Work using their covid business loan to pay off their other loans. Is it just me or is that unethical as strawberry float? If they only needed the money to pay off other loans early, that's just all kinds of wrong to me.

I work in payroll, transferring staff to and fro between districts, and processing their wages and overtime allowances and what have you.

Well, supposedly if the income has reduced to the business that would otherwise be used to pay off those loans, then it's effectively the same thing.

But if they never really needed to loan to begin with, I guess that's not totally ethical. The truth is pretty much every business out there has been impacte by Covid one way or another so they would claim it even if they get too much.

Of course, by the sounds of your company management I expect the loans would never have been paid if the income came from normal business proceedings.

Customer complaining about a less than 10% deviation in print size on stretchy jersey cotton T-shirt fabric, as if printing onto fabric this comes as a massive surprise where the name of the process/product in question is literally "Soft Stretch".

On a sample that I produced for free. Total time on job: 4.5 hours, free of charge, actually at a loss. Yeah, nope.

Consequently all paid up orders have been delayed by however that factors into the lead times on those because they kept strawberry floating calling to chase up free gooseberry fool.

Third time this sort of thing has happened with customers who have Instagram accounts and want to "convert" them into businesses.

Here's a solution for that:

1. Step one, pay Shopify to set up a shop
2. Step two, install a plug-in provided by a print-to-order/fulfilment service. Pay them
3. Evaluate the results by for example ordering your own product, reconcile any discrepancies with the supplier without strongly implying those are deliberate or caused by negligence in a FREE SAMPLE
4. strawberry float off
5. Perhaps try calling any of these companies and getting them on the phone for over an hour to help you discuss your business model, again free of charge.

You're welcome. Don't have a professional artworker with a degree and 10+ years experience doing it for free and then complaining about something as banal as this, strawberry floating hell. They even implied I had sent the sample to the wrong address while it took longer than 24hrs to arrive via Royal Mail during Covid, which I also paid for. I've been shipping items across the world since 2014. And they ALWAYS want to schedule a call to discuss everything that has already been stated in an e-mail and is therefore already actionable while my other paid-up customers simply let me get on with it.

Pissed off with being sniped at for being proactive on things at the moment. Doing my rounds of checking in with people I'm in the middle of projects on, and suggesting next steps to get things moving, to be met with "are you twiddling your thumbs/do it you have much to do or something?!". No you twat, I'm keeping things moving everywhere so things are always rolling on rather than sit with my thumb up my ass (that ones on me moggy) and wait for things to eventually appear. Even worse is the kind of people saying that are often the ones saying how busy they are, yet have time to be sending you articles on vaguely work related stuff throughout the day.

An email we just received from a team member:

I was thinking of putting something together for charity because we don't do the collections while at home... my thought is that we could set a high target in miles and everyone could join in and walk/run however much they can. We could pick a destination or a miles target. If anyone has any charities in mind that would be good

I don’t really think its unethical, it’s a smart move really in order to be better off financially as a company. The loans have been offered, the exception surely is if a business can get one they will take one. And if you aren’t generating the same income it makes sense to do that too, may seem fishy but if it protects jobs further and that I think it’s fine.

That sounds like a perfect storm of both charity fundraising and exercise virtue signalling for narcissists.

Well I guess that's one of many reasons why I'm not a business man. If I was, I'd be too honest and good.

Could come in handy, less likely to go on a redundancy list if they don’t know you’re there.

He has met me several times so either he's forgotten I exist or he just doesn't like me. 8-)

Perhaps you could send him a box of chocolates with a picture of your family underneath?

At the start of your next team call with him have this coincidentally playing in the background.
