Just make sure you write it as 'award-winning', otherwise it suggests 'award' is being used as a verb and employers will get so confused they'll sack you before they've even offered you a job!

Definitely do it, though. It's literally true and only slightly misleading :slol:.

Can I describe myself as award-winning based on my primary school swimming awards?

Today no boundaries customer e-mailed me at 5:30am on a Saturday as I finished something last night, saying someone could collect the items later, then called me while I'm still in bed on the biz telephone, obviously this is not getting answered, leaves a voicemail anyway saying someone can come round in 15 minutes so to let me know if I can do it (this is a voicemail so how exactly am I supposed to have got that voicemail within 15 minutes? This handset is in my living room). This is not an arrangement... That's... Not how arrangements work. Not sure what the strawberry floating point of that phone call was supposed to be as theysent somone around anyway, so they're sent away by my girlfriend who say's there's been no arrangement (seems to be their dad or something). So I email back on a Saturday: as per my original suggestion, I will drop them off in my OWN time today, such as this evening. No, not convenient apparently because of family visiting, but I can drop them off Sunday night or even - wow, here's an idea! - on Monday when they're actually promised by and I'm actually working (except really, I'm not, I've told them I'm signing myself off work for 30 days). I don't get it. It's not like we have to have a long conversations, it's just a delivery I'm kindly offering to do on my weekend.

"You can always text me to see if I am in" NOPE NOPE NOPE I am extremely grateful I haven't already given this person my mobile number because I would never hear the end of it. I generally do not give any customers my mobile number because of precisely this kind of thing.

This customer of mine lives accross the road, but it's strawberry floating insane how much dickery she thinks is appropriate on a weekend. Just leave me alone, when is say I can drop them off (basically as a personal favour), either say yes or go away. Don't email and call me, send random people to my home without an arrangement, and THEN decline my very kind offer to drop something off on a non work day. The presumption with regards to my personal time is on a whole other level with this one. And this is after she said, she wouldn't be emailing or bothering me as she knows about my situation at the moment...? Well that promise lasted about 24hrs.

In fact they've pissed me off so much with this and the 8am drop off thing they proposed on Thursday I wasted 30 minutes talking about painful customer demands with my therapist

I really don't understand what's so complicated about these working hours and to respect the time I am not working. If I offer to deliver something on a weekend, such as a Saturday, that is my perojative. For the love of god don't send donkeys around to my house at random times without an appointment, or call me, or even e-mail. If you're not in when I knock on the door, tough gooseberry fool, you'll get them on a NORMAL WORK DAY. :x

Is this just a thing with people who have young children? Everything is do-able some time between 5 and 8am in the morning, whether it's work or play, whether it's your time or someone else's? And even on weekends? They do have a shop that I think is open 11am to 4pm Saturdays but that has nothing to do with me? There must be something I'm failing to understand/empathise with here.

Got my first day of work since the 6th of April tomorrow.

I give it two days before I miss being furloughed.

Every Monday morning I have to spend like an hour trying to log in to work because some update they've tried to put in over the weekend has broken the system. Every single week they do this. They don't learn.

Blame your bosses. IT can only do updates when they're allowed to do them by the higher ups and go forbid you let IT do it during the week at some point which makes sense when they can fix it for people before it becomes a problem.

Oh it makes sense to apply the update OOO hours but if every update is breaking the system, they must be doing something wrong.

Most of our internal systems at work seem to spend more time out of action than they do actually working. Fortunately in my role I very rarely have to touch our intranet so its fine but for some people it's a nightmare.

Most of the people in my team access our systems via Citrix and are always having connectivity issues.

I use local access and never have a problem.

Is it a system or bit of software they designed? They could be stuck working with a piece of gooseberry fool because said bosses don't want to upgrade it/fix it properly or move to another provider if it's software.

In many cases it's not ITs fault.

Yes, and a lot of other people I know work in IT as well so I know a lot of the horror stories.

Note, today one of our clients is having issues with disk space on his machine. He has over 20GB in his mailbox which is currently sat as an OST and has a 30GB archive which I want to move to the server, but guess what. I can't because despite complaining to them for the last 3 years about their disk space issues they still won't buy any additional disks for it to give them space to work with. So here I am stuck like a Lemon trying to fix something there's no hope in fixing purely because rather than telling our clients to sort their gooseberry fool out we have to bendover backwards for no reason.

That is a lot of email!

Up until very recently individual accounts on our company Outlook were only entitled to a 500MB mailbox :fp:

Our mailboxes have a limit of 99GB, but they're all in Office365 and anything older than a certain age is auto-archived so it doesn't get stored locally.
