I'm dreading the return a bit tomorrow, picked up a killer chest infection and leaving the UK again early on Saturday so gonna have to try quickly score some antibiotics to take with me just in case.

Temptation to extend Xmas holiday increasing. I had a pretty shitty couple of days in the middle.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Well that was grim. Welcome back to real life.

Nothing even went particularly wrong. I just want to wake up at 10am and play Nintendo all day.

We had a pub lunch at work today which helped soften the blow of being the first day back.

Bill was taken care of by the project as well :datass:

I've been bored out of my mind at work for months now (well, even more than usual), and while yesterday was actually okay - presumably because I hadn't been there for a couple of weeks - today is so difficult.

I shouldn't complain really, because it pays well and is easy, but it's stunningly, mind-numbingly dull. So many times I've been tempted to chuck it in and move away somewhere completely different (like teaching English abroad or something) just to do something different and try and inject some excitement into life. The prospect of doing this shite for another 30 years or so is beyond depressing. :dread:

Well, that's the first time a customer has threatened legal action against me in work.

I knew that was going to be a gooseberry fool phonecall from the first three seconds of it.

When I worked on the customer service desk at PC World I'd get threatened with legal action at least once or twice a month.

It used to happen to me quite often. I'd be such a cocky twat because I worked for a legal regulator and one of our services was an online tool that could be used to find the right lawyer, so every time I would say "That's fine, would you like me to direct you to our service that will help you find a solicitor you can approach to do so?".

It didn't tend to go down very well.

I just picked up the phone and answered his call

Got the words maladministration and breach of contract thrown at me within the first 10 seconds of the call. I asked him repeatedly for the context or issue, but he wouldn't answer the question. The big boss was dealing with his enquiry and he wasn't there for me to ask what it was about.

I'm still none the wiser
