Looks like from Feb we're going back to "twice a month mandatory, once+ a week encouraged".

So that's me in twice a month then.

You have to go in to make others want to come in? Oooookay.

Hang on, what if your someone who doesn't like large groups of people, you know, the normal people?

Yeah it's utterly nonsensical.
Part of it is to encourage socialising between teams, completely ignoring that I have no desire to socialise with those particular people.

Before Omicron I had been pushing for one day per month, but we more or less compromised on one day every other week, which I wasn't happy about but I guess we'll see.

Interviewed for a role just prior to Christmas and learnt two weeks ago that someone else got the role and was starting at the start of February.

Today I get a call from recruitment.

Recruiter: You didn't get the job, sorry.
Me: Yeah I've known for a few weeks now.
Recruiter: What? How?
Me: Isn't it more important that an appointment was made two weeks ago yet I'm only receiving an update now?

Congrats on the job.

Now, do we run a pool on how long it takes Victor to moan about his new job?

Covid is over didn't you see the news. There was only... 95,000 new cases yesterday (down from last week) and only 288 deaths (up from last week)

The pandemic is over, time to move on!!!! /s

It's more the idea that it's "vital" we fill offices as much as possible that I take issue with in that tweet. It's vital for commercial landlords to retain the value of their obscene portfolios — the rest of us our bank balances and general wellbeing be damned!

strawberry float every single square foot of their estate. Most people can work effectively with a 1 x 4 foot work surface which costs literally strawberry floating nothing, even if it's in a library or in the strawberry floating park. Dick heads.

It’s vital that we now see the maximum use of office space being made from next week

It's so strawberry floating disrespectful to neurodiverse people to insist we need to "get back to face to face office work" as well. I am much more effective without being forced to do that.

Or course I won't force myself to do that but it being the "correct and proper norm" in society is hugely ableist.

I tweet the strawberry floater which will achieve nothing but make me feel slightly better for speaking out.

If an office environment actually makes some people incapable of doing their jobs then what the strawberry float good is that? We need to radically rethink effective work environments for a range of different people.

We could literally have Kermit the frog as a condiadate around here for the conservative and he would still get in

Not a great example, of course Kermit the Frog would get in, I'd vote for that green strawberry floater
