Would it not normally be your job to process the receipts for expenses?

I had to take time off to cover childcare whilst our kids weren't allowed in school every Thursday for about 2 months because there wasn't room in the key worker cover (so basically I watched TV with them). This coincided with the day each week that work were getting pizzas in for everyone as a "thanks for having to be in the office during a pandemic" kind of thing, so I missed out on this every time.

I chose to take this as just a little bit of bad luck rather than a calculated insult to me personally. ;)

In my previous job on the reception desk, we were moving offices. They said they would get pizzas in on the last day and we would get rotated off reception so that we could get some.

I ended up being told to stay there the entire day. They didn't rotate me out. Didn't get any pizza.

I still think about this. It happened years ago.

Pizza is serious business.

Many Greggs are on Just Eat delivery, I think you should get Jenuall as an apology.

Yeah but based on past experiences this feels like a conscious decision to exclude me. It is possible that there's no ill intent but I'm not feeling great today so I think I'm focusing on the bad.

Agency just rang me to pressure me into interviewing for the same job that I already turned down twice. I ended up telling them I wouldn't feel comfortable working for a major plastics manufacturer considering the climate crisis and the silence from the other end of the phone was palpable.

Definitely need to try some more meditation tonight, even if it's just five minutes, as I feel so tired and high strung today. I'd been alright for the past couple of days :(

I'm applying for some jobs at the moment, and it's such an ordeal. Every interview process involves 4-5 stages/rounds, and it's so arduous. Drags on for months, with weeks in between each stage, and they always seem to give you work to do for the interviews that are timed to so that you have to work over a weekend for an interview the following week. I'm sure they do it on purpose.

Why does it always have to be so drawn out and involved? Makes moving around and applying so off-putting.

Jsut made the mistake of checking out what the people I used to share an office are up to now.

Most of them are directors at major brands :|

My options are:

• Traditional (in the office 3 or more days per week). - has a fixed desk.
• Mobile (in the office 1-2 days per week) - no fixed desk - ‘hot desk’
• Remote (not in the office at all/based in another state/country etc)

My manager is pushing Mobile but with no expectations to come into the office. Only when I feel it would be more "effective"

However I feel that being a remote worker who comes in to the office when it is more effective would be the better pick.

But he sees no difference. I am not being stupid here am I? Maybe it’s just semantics, but I feel the the written expectations carry quite a weight for a 'mobility' worker, while a remote worker seems to have the most flexibility and is exactly what I have been doing the for the past year without any issues.

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.
