Horrific but it's vindication that all my fears were warranted.

How long until Director bloke asks you to sort it all out?

They were completely thrown, stuttering and saying how much I'm missed by everyone.

They're going to pass my comments on to the directors and let me know the outcome

WTF?

"Didn't you guys just receive the same laundry list of safety issues that I did?!"

More common sense, this time from one of the big boys in the accounting world:

PwC says start when you like, leave when you like

Following the pandemic the accountancy giant is offering its staff much more control over their working pattern.

PwC chairman Kevin Ellis said he hoped this would make flexible working "the norm rather than the exception".

"We want our people to feel trusted and empowered," Mr Ellis said.

Having worked for a big boy in the accountancy world that means start when you like, leave when you like, just make sure you fit in your 80 hours for the week.

Just imagine how much more you could have earned for them if you went back into the office!

Just invested about 1.2k in a blu laser engraver head and all of the relevant safety equipment. I continue down this avenue of madness while I attempt to backdate four years of VAT in my first VAT return so that I can eliminate that expense. Hopefully I don't need to sell it all.

Today I am printing tongue-in-cheek satanist "fem fatale" items. Sure doing hundreds of lines of accounting work on your own in just a couple of days is more than a little overwhelming but I have to offset that against the unpredictable nature of the work that rolls my way and my 2-yearly or so opportunity to learn new things and mess around with technology.

So now it's possible to not only lose my limbs, my lungs or my mind, I have the ability to blind myself as well. Touch wood that hasn't happened yet and I'm not a total idiot.

Oh also, yay brexit, thankfully laser machinery is 0% duty for some reason but if they screw up my EORI number I won't get the VAT back which is of course charged on importing, well, strawberry floating anything from anywhere now. Why? Beecuse of course the best solution on the market that isn't from the USA is in Poland, you know, that far away shadowy continent that we are also part of. Cheers conservatives, the bastion of business.

Well that was just an awful day. I'm completely wiped out and still didn't manage to do everything.

Still haven't heard anything from the agency yet so I'm getting really antsy now.

Director wants to have his little phone meetings with me tomorrow so I'm just going to point blank tell him I'm waiting on a personal call and he'll need to call me back on the work phone. Will probably get his back up but I don't think that's an unreasonable request.

I'm tempted to just sack it off tomorrow and ring in sick but WFH kind of makes it easier to just put up and get on with it.

Yeh it's complete bollocks from them. There's not much of an option to be flexible if you're working 14 hour days.

Damn doing the early shift reminds me why I hate going the office. I don't get nearly enough sleep and because of my anxiety I have to wake up super early to get ready if I'm going out anywhere.
