Really anxious about Monday but I went there and did an interview without any panicking so I should be fine.

Plans for celebration or a rebellious final last-word email?

I'd love to but I can't be bothered. Not worth my time.

They're sending a van at 3pm apparently. I won't be helping to load the mountains of paperwork they insist on keeping.

I've just received a strawberry float tonne of work over email though. Clearly they don't have anyone new in yet and want to make me do as much as humanly possible to cover them for the next few days.

I'm going to do the absolute minimum and then just send a sad email at about half 2 saying I ran out of time.

FD was emailing at 7am as well telling me I had to do this and that. It's clear to me that they're in a panic.

HR woman also sent me the most half arsed "good luck" email that I had to laugh. Really wasn't worth bothering, love

I've been desperate to use this line for years but annoyingly have only ever worked with people who are too nice to say it to them!

I said it at the last place I left, because I knew one of the team was a Red Dwarf fan and would get it. The looks from everyone else though

FD just rang to check a couple of things quickly. Then he started with the false niceties, asking where I was going and what my situation was. I probably came off as a prick but I shut him down immediately and said I didn't want to discuss my personal, private situation with him.

I still get job leads occasionally 9 years after signing up to Reed which is sort of mad but also from LinkedIn and direct to my inbox somehow. My information is very public considering it however.

You'll have more luck working with a recruiter and a lot of job ads are actually posted and handled by a recruiter these days. They'll generally sift through less people and interview less candidates that way as they're not necessarily opening the floodgates for a role. There seem to be more people working in recruitment than anything else these days...

Hi Victor, here's a template, please use this.

*uses it, makes artwork*

We don't like that template!

If only you could hold colleagues to account for their own contractual briefs, requirements and stipulations that you deliver on!

Hmmm

I'm actually in a rut at the moment, deciding whether to increase overheads by about £1,800 a year for a proper visual "I want this" > OK here's the proof > pay me > here's your thing setup ERP sort of thing (where the customer by and large makes their own guided decisions about things from templates etc etc). A huge deal as I've never invested in infrastructure and there's so many ways to do this sort of thing myself so a monthly overhead is frankly scary and nothing close to what I currently pay for accounting, adobe etc. It would also completely replace my website so I lose that degree or flexibility as the software can't and won't do everything I want, but would make the bulk of my business considerably easier and convert more customers.

All the work equipment has been collected now so that's it for me. Feel pretty nervous now but I'm sure I'll be fine on Monday. The first few days will probably be pretty straightforward anyway, nothing to be frightened of.

I was in our office from 2:30 today to 5:30 and in that time my neck started hurting, my back started hurting and my stomach started hurting as well. Seriously strawberry float that place.

Just received an email containing a day one itinerary from my new employer. Pretty good actually, certainly helps with those first day nerves. Looks like it'll be all introductions and formalities on Monday, with actual work on Tuesday, so hopefully it'll be a good way of easing in and I don't have to be so nervous over the weekend.

First few days of work are always orientation based anyway, piece of piss.

Got a message from a recruiter about a role that's third line (above where I am at the moment) for 5-10k over what I'm currently earning close by. Asked if I was interested so I asked what the remote situation was, because that's the dealbreaker for me, but that's pretty insane.
