Will be nice to be earning a bit more, too.

Congratulations! Does it mean less Apex and more work though? :dread:

"I have changed the email password to try and stop us receiving so much spam"

How is that going to help? Maybe stop downloading malware

Oh and congratulations, Aaron! :msgreen:

I just had a chat with HR about me not wanting to fill out the health questionnaire and they're going to go check with some legal people. Fun times.

They're just idiots

We once received one of those "we have videos of you masturbating" blackmail emails and the director called me to ask about it. He was so genuinely panicked and worried that I'm completely convinced he wanks in the office once everyone has gone home. I remember saying to him "well I know I haven't done anything to be worried about" and he stumbled for what to say after that.

 that's brilliant

There was a version of that which would cause pop-ups in website as they put malicious code in adverts, and the guy running it made loads of money. He only got caught because he started to insult the advertising platform when they told him to stop, so they reported him to the authorities.

Nothing wrong with a cheeky office wank. Our company provides a handy kit for this very purpose in the toilets!

And they've backed down and said I don't need to complete it, as they've been advised it can't be compulsory. That was much easier than I thought it would be. She tried to imply its because I'm depressed, and when they know about people's depression they can point them in the direction of some councillors the company contracts part time - but I just didn't engage with this fishing attempt.

After 3 years of earning next to nothing, depleting all my savings and leeching off the wife I finally have a job title I didn't give myself.

All very exciting.

Good work! :toot:

So is that a narrative consultancy type situation? Game studios call you guys in to support the development of the story side of an experience?

Thanks! Yup, it's exactly that. I'm already working on one project, with a few more potentials lined up. Anthony our director has a super strong record (before he wrote Night Call he worked on Plague Tale: Innocence and a load of Ubisoft games) and is well known enough that I have no worries about future clients.

I've also just joined a big translation firm doing copy-editing for games too, alongside my work on Chinatown Detective Agency. After 3 years of almost nothing suddenly work has just exploded.
