Finally got myself a full time job and moved to London. strawberry floating buzzing. Class Midweight Designer position.

What's etiquette for updating your LinkedIn at a new place? Do you need to wait for the 3 month probationary to finish?

The Bet365 CEO has earned £469m this past year. Christ.

It is honestly disgusting how a small number of individuals are just hoarding all the wealth while so many people struggle to get by on the bare minimum. I wonder how many Customer Services advisors who man their phones are on minimum wage there.

Maybe I'm just bitter that I've contributed to that wage over the past year :slol:

Cheers man. Moved to Clapham just off the Common. Moved down without a job so just got a sublet for few months so need to find somewhere permanent for June onwards. Likely be the same area or maybe closer to Brixton.

Sorry I typed that poorly  Just 'class' as in it's a good job, and it's Graphic Design. Thought I'd have to take a step back career wise because of the past year without full time employment but it's not worked out that way. It's ad agency work which is what I wanted.

If you earned that much in a single year, why would you even still be working? Get paid, retiree and have people carry you around and feed you grapes for the rest of your life.

She's probably addicted to making money. Probably why she's in position she's in.

If I somehow made several million, I'd retire immediately. I can't understand the mentality of people like that.

They treat their bank balance like a high score.

This bit means they expect you to be fully skilled, unlike a junior, but they don’t want to pay for a senior’s salary.

Nice one BO Hero, sounds like a plum post. Although they obviously don't know your deadlift numbers if they're only putting you in the middleweight league.

It actually came up in my second interview  Asked about my interests then when I mentioned powerlifting they asked the gym guy who works there already what his numbers were. Nowhere near mine. So I'm the new alpha in the office.

OPEN THE STUDIOS!!!

Good work!

I've been midweight and senior before.

Junior = expected to have basic competency but will need constant management. Mainly there to take lighter jobs off the other busier team members

Midweight = expected to have a good bit of experience, can look after the juniors and be mostly self sufficient with some management.

Senior = totally self sufficient and the team expert in all the software. Makes key decisions on work, deals with most of the external contacts. The lead on most projects and coordinates the midweights.

Team manager = takes the credit for the studios output while being in the office as little as possible. Doesn't answer emails or phone calls. Somehow in the position despite lacking basic design skills or artistic talent.

 Studio, gym, pubs, repeat.

Yeah I think middleweight is perfect for me just now. Don't need the constant watching but not ready to make the key decisions. Only got about 3.5 years industry experience so few more years be in Senior position.
