Got a call from my boss today and I've got a 10% payrise starting in January putting me up to 33k from 30. My friend who's the same level as me also got the same so I'll take that as a win for us.

Good work. Any pay rise in the current climate is an achievement

Got an out of the blue zoom interview of sorts with an old boss of mine tomorrow. No idea what it's really about, but the company it's for would be back in the dream job situation if something comes of it.

Got offered a new job last night. Don't have it in writing yet, but it's looking good.

Yay got the job!! Is effective from Tuesday as thats the start of the next pay run so yay!! Literally no change to my actual job as in the last couple of months I've started taking on more responsibility for development and design in projects so this is effectively work putting me onto the pay for the work they ahve started asking me to do because I wanted to do it, so yeah all good

When I was working in my first job in a call centre many years ago, the computer system was set up to show male customers names in the format of “ J SMITH ESQ”.

Imagine my 16yr old self trying not to burst out laughing when “W ANKER ESQ” appeared on a screen when some bloke gave me his account number! Poor bloke must have hated his parents for naming him William or whatever the W stood for!
