It should just be a cut/paste 3 items back into 1...but nope. Having to try and rejig/reorganise on the fly,

But they've completely lost track of whether lines have been removed by intent (no one kept a log) or by poor reconciling.

I've just found out the organiser has been moving (or trying to) the others work "into" hers as trying to recombine...and didn't save a back up copy of just hers....

Jesus. This is painful. I've tried to offer help/support - but they know they done goofed and are being very very defensive.

You need SharePoint and office online, you could all edit the same file then live.

We use OneDrive for that, for some reason our SharePoint doesn't allow multi-access concurrently.

I've been offered a job interview for the first time in over 15 months of looking. It's actually for a 12 month position, so by this pace I need to start looking for the one afterwards right now, too.

Since private company General Management Services has taken over facilities (porters, estates and domestic) the portering situation has grown dire. We're currently 14 porters short on the Cheltenham site alone (17 in Gloucester I believe) with GMS only allowing our management team to employ 3 full timers and one part timer at Cheltenham, all of whom will require 1 months CRB check then 3-4 weeks training before they can begin work proper.

Whole wards are no longer covered on the day shift and as a result patient moves, Xrays, CTs, MRIs etc are constantly late, at worse appointments missed altogether. We simply don't have the staff to cover the work load.

To make matters worse many of the wards haven't grasped the situation (or are being deliberately obtuse) and as such are constantly attempting to blame the porters rather than taking their concerns to GMS. As you might imagine morale is quite low and some of my colleagues are now at the 'strawberry float em, let the place fall apart' stage.

As for myself I'm on the 2-10pm shift now having volunteered to come off days being as the late shift were short. The bonus being I can now avoid all the politics that comes with being on the day shift. My general opinion is, however, that within the next decade hospital porters will be a thing of the past. The wards will take care of their own patient moves, regardless of how many staff they do or do not have day to day.

You should think about writing that up in a little more detail and submitting it to The Guardian or something. That's a really essential part of our hospitals being privatised under our noses, and being worse off for it. People should be told about it.

I could do, but the powers that be will just dress it up as lies and misinformation. The BBC were at the hospital the other week doing a spot on A&E. The bullshit the management spun about it being more efficient than ever would almost be hilarious if it weren't so depressing.

I'm just plodding along buddy, doing my upmost to make patients comfortable whilst keeping my head down.

Maybe, but it gets the story out there and could encourage more investigative work by journalist. You should be able to be anonymous etc. so it should be traceable etc.

God forbid the surgeons or consultants take a pay cut. I wonder what your average surgeon earns? 250k?

Anyone know of a website that's got a list of common interview questions? It's been over 4 years since I've had one, I'm going to be well out of practice.

The governments should be funding it properly,
The government shouldn’t be allowing outsourcing to companies that cut back the service to the bone to maximise their profit.

It’s not the staff in the NHS that should suffer! The government should do its ducking job and fund our services at a proper bloody level!

....field? It's odd, thinking about it I don't actually know if 'field' means 'industry', 'role' or a combination of the two. It's not really a term I come across day to day. Huh.

It's a project coordinator position, in a public sector kind of place, specialising in education and culture (you can probably guess who it is with a quick Google, but I'd rather this place not turn up in any Google searches if someone is trying to stalk my online history).

My current job is in more of a tech R&D / project sales type of place - which one of my roles is project coordination/management.

Although I was more just looking for genetic stuff like 'what was it about this position that interested you' - I think I know how to talk about what I do pretty well, just want to get prepared for the way interviews approach things around the day to day stuff of the role.

Thought it was a pretty standard term? Maybe not! Just wondered in case our experience is drastically different.

Have they described the interview at all? Is there mention of behavioural competencies or anything else that indicates what they'll assess you on?
