I am also behind it, but that's because most sport is gooseberry fool, and I couldn't care less.
I would also advocate a ban on anything ITV broadcast, peoples ailments, weekend drinking shenanigans and holidays.
In fact if people would just not talk to me at work unless I initiate it that would be great.

What absolute management nonsense. In offices where laddish culture poses a genuine problem to staff wellbeing, sports chat is not at the root of the issue.
"It's very easy for it to escalate from VAR talk and chat to slapping each other on the back and talking about their conquests at the weekend."

I'm suprised you had the nerve to show up today considering that shot you missed last night!

Ban football chat in the workplace?
That’s going to make half time team talks awkward.

"I personally think companies should not dictate what people talk about, as not talking about it will alienate those with similar interests," she said.
"Where would it end? Banning people with children talking about them so as not to alienate people without children. Certainly not!"
This office manager needs to meet Victor...

Everyone should meet me once, but not speak.
I'd be happy with some sort of adults only (not like that) office system where all child talk is banned.

Don't mind people talking about their kids in work. But I always think of this when they are doing so.
'It's gonna be a big steaming ball of gooseberry fool!'

What a load of rubbish. Talk about whatever the hell you want in your office - if there is a genuinely toxic, harmful, or vindictive culture developing around certain subjects or people then deal with it on an individual basis.

Walked into the first class of the year today ready to teach next week’s material. That went well.

So the person who took over my role like a year ago after me being removed from it is getting the same gooseberry fool I had to put up with.
Our office is 100x better than it's ever been thanks to her doing a good job and now they're forcing her to put more pressure on her to put pressure on everyone else even though everything is going so well. People (including me) are getting upset and she basically vented to me explaining what was going on and why she's been so stressed. I told her she's got to immediately talk to the other partner who isn't an asshole and he'll sort it, because I said if you don't say anything now it will only get worse which is gooseberry fool, but it's the truth.

Just saw the football chat ban thing - I genuinely wouldn’t have a thing in common with anyone in the office if I didn’t support Celtic.

What a load of shite. Are they going to stop women talking about babies or Coronation Street? It's another form of sexism.

Oh strawberry float! That must've been brutal.
Fortunately mine was only an introductory tutorial, so when one of the students pointed it out to me I was able to cover up my complete lack of preparedness a little better than I would've been in a proper class.
