Customer jumped way too fast into a high risk scenario with high overheads and high end blank apparel with zero economy in terms of carton rates or some other kind of deal with garment manufacturers. So can't afford me anymore. We're talking a few pounds per unit here with items selling for around £50-70 per piece which have ended up in firesales. Oh well. I'm happy working at those prototypical stages, as soon as things end up in a situation where you need maximum returns and maximum quality with minimum investment and minimum time that's a situation that's untenable for me to support as a tiny studio. It's important to know when to let a customer go rather than chasing after those pennies.

In other job related news, after five years rotting in the shithole that is UPS, I've only gone and nabbed a job with the council! I just had the call to say my vetting cleared, and I can start on Monday on reduced hours while I work my notice! 8-)

This time next month, I'll never have to set foot in that godforsaken building again! :toot: :toot:

At work we picked one football team to support (Fleetwood - the Cod Army) so we could follow their progress and discuss their performance together, as our actual teams were all in different leagues. Was quite fun, and no actual hard feelings.

With Barton punching opposition managers, not a dull team to follow.

Wait for them to get the gooseberry fools and throw them in the bin on the other side of the office. Problem solved. They'll probably feel too slobbish to walk around asking everyone if they've seen their chilly Doritos.

Which reminds me, once I had like 2 of those bags of cheese Doritos and a six pack of Guinness (the tall ones), spent the morning throwing up orange.

Not in an office though

Place your bets now - which will kill me first, corona virus or boredom? I'm bored out of my strawberry floating skull at the moment.

Just found out that I didn't get the job I interviewed for at the start of December.

Sigh.

At least you got an interview, which is a good reflection on you.

Mmm, yes and no. I got knocked back for the only reason I would have. Annoying thing is I consulted the hiring manager prior to application about that concern and was told it wouldn't necessarily count against me as things could be learnt on the job.

Well, because of the protracted hiring process, they no longer felt the time I could have been afforded to learn is feasible.

Back to work after a five day holiday today and I feel really anxious. Was dreaming all night that I was stuck in traffic and late for work. I really hope no one talks to me or wants to update me on anything I missed. I just want to get in, catch up by myself and come home.

Had a look online for jobs today and found one that'd probably be worth applying for but then noped out when I started imagining having to prepare for an interview again.

The tannoy system in our building is just playing white noise, combined with a high pitched whine, and one of the speakers is right above my desk. :dread:

Supposedly it's being dealt with, but so far apparently nobody's had the idea of turning the speakers off.
