Sounds like he needs you more than you need them which is always a good position to be in.

We've got a complaint going on at the moment and even though it's nothing to do with me, I've been asked to reply.

But the person lives at "Isis House"

I'm basically giving him anything he wants. It's just not worth the risk especially as he'll have my name. :dread:

Isis House, strawberry floating hell.

You'd think they'd change that. Possibly to something less worrying... Like Hitler House.

The strawberry floating piece of gooseberry fool software this company uses. Two hours of work lost because I dared to click "minimise" on a window.

Of all the names Colston Hall could have picked for their rebrand.

Got the date through for my promotion interview at work, it's a bit further away than I would have liked so now I've got a couple of weeks to stress about it! :dread:

We have a standardised set of topics that everyone is supposed to talk about during promotions that I need to put a presentation together for, most of it is the usual stuff - overview of your experience, where you fit into the rest of the business, examples of your successes etc. But for the final section they want you to offer suggestions for ways to "improve the business" and short of Mark from Peep Show's "reroute the work phones to mobiles" idea I'm coming up blank!

So, anyone got any good ideas for business improvement in an IT/software development context that I can steal "leverage" for my own benefit? :shifty:

I suggest making the standard responses a bit more in lime with what young people would say.

Instead of, "Have you tried turning it off and back on again?"

Try, "Okay, so, have you like, tried smashing the *(this bit is in a rising cadence)* powerbuttontoliketurnitbackonagaaain?"

Solid idea but I think a few of the management team will be on the panel so that might not go down so well!

What's up TechSupportTribe, it's your boy xXIT_Supp0rt_420Xx coming at you with another reaction to this tech support request, but first here is 10 minutes of me reading the silly names of my latest patreon subscribers....

...now, what you've all been waiting for. Bro, you should smash that power button like you're smashing like and subscribe to my channel and the donate button on my patreon, it really helps me out. If you want to know more about switching things off and on again you should check out skillshare/Nord VPN/Squarespace/some gooseberry fool earbuds/audible.

Got an interview next week for an FC role. Would be a big step up in terms of responsibility (managing a team of around 10 as opposed to 3-4) but the opportunity sounds great. Got on well with the FD for an informal chat last night over Zoom. Proper interview next week, between me and 1 other person apparently.
