I've looked into it for them and turns out they haven't even made the mistake they thought they had  :fp:

Is this stuff like a single line reconciliation or wrong account code or something like that?

Yay for having to do 100% of all of those and every other job in my business :dread:

Finally got some jobs in this week, bunch of workwear for a carpenter. Explained everything in emails and they are worried they need to respond in commensurate detail and I'm like, no, provided you're happy with my answers we don't need to set up a phone call  :fp:

A lot of what I'm saying is the detail required for them to be adequately informed of what I'm doing for them as that's all part of a contract like this. If I don't include those details they might try to make a claim or sue me or some gooseberry fool.

They're paying today though so that's the only signal I need that it's all fine and I'll just get on with it.

Seriously need to streamline a lot of what I'm doing this year though. No, this month. :simper: I really dislike reaching the end of the day and it's just... 100% emails.

Job interview for three month contract at 3pm today. Hate these video interviews so much.

Interview went well. 3 month contract with a gaming company so it'd be class. Got a task to do for next week so will give me something to work on over the weekend. Never thought Official Nintendo Magazine forum would come up in an interview.

Nice one. And it's good to know that ONM is playing a larger part of your future despite it no longer existing.

So the manager who I complained about before essentially apologised to me and said she's had enough of being our bosses mouthpiece who basically doesn't want anyone to be happy. It looks like management has been taken away from her since she stopped deliberately stressing people and started being a good manager and it's been given to one of the worst people for stressing people out in the office.

Well this is going to be fun.

That's says a lot about the upper tier of management, then. Absolute monsters running the place, it seems.

This is literally a time loop, this has happened 3-4 times previously. We start getting really quiet because everyone is doing an amazing job and one of the directors gets bored because he can't complain, so he gets more and more anal until everyone gets stressed and either people leave or we get busy again because everyone gives up trying hard then he starts complaining again.

I think a lot of managers don't want to be dicks but are told by bigger managers who are even bigger dicks that they need to be dicks to get people to work, harder, faster but not necessarily better, because, well, that might justify something like a payrise and we can't be having that!

Sounds like the sort of thing that could only be solved with having some more meetings if you ask me!

I thought you were going to say more dicks there, but meetings are even worse than dicks. I'd rather be dicked than go to a meeting.

But do we need more dicks or simply bigger dicks?

Either way, we could definitely do with a bit more girth.

Just received an email that literally ended with the line "let me know if you don't receive this email".

Given how bad you are at letting unopened post stack up I'm not surprised they're saying that.

In order to be safe I think you should set up an automated bot that spams them with messages saying "I haven't received your email" every minute that goes by without you receiving an email from them.

You can't be too careful
