Demon's Souls called, it wants to know where you live.

This is more an action game, rather than a turn based RPG, whilst it still has the stats and everything. Always worth a punt, though. Seriously amazing game.

Well there have been three or four great JRPGs this gen on console, but handhelds have seen way more top quality JRPGs and don't forget the PSone downloads for PSP which also suit PSP better.

It's not really a JRPG, though. Not really.

And besides, one swallow does not a summer make.

Ah TWEWY

For those about to pick it up, I think it's worth re-iterating that the battle system is utterly brilliant and great fun once you've got the hang of it. You'll initially feel as though you're drowning, but persevere a little.

Like I said started this today (technically I tired it quickly last night) and it's great! I don't know why but was expecting to look really blocky and dated, stupid Floex. It looks gorgeous, great art design so far, already getting hang of the battle system which is so refreshing. Trying to chain combos for the best results is great initiative to use both characters.

Now to admit I'm stuck already :fp:

Just reached the dog statue but can't seem to find the problem. Found some weird pig enemies, what was all that about? I'm sure I have to find someone in this area but had to switch off to get off at my stop. I will figure this out on the way home

Pigs are just "Rare" enemies that may give special rewards, but are hard to beat before they run.

And I could never get the hand of fighting across 2 screens :(

I never warmed to this at all, and I'm not sure why.

I normally love JRPGs and have played many over the years. I can accept grinding, characters that look/act/speak a bit weird, funny little side-quests...the whole lot. For some reason, those same elements in this game just.......annoyed me. It felt like the whole thing was trying too hard and exuded a very contrived "teen" vibe, I just couldn't be arsed with it. I think the last straw was when you had to start spotting fashion trends (or whatever it was).

Another reason I'm probably so bitter about it is that I arranged to trade it with another forum member, sent it off in a fit of rage without checking said member's feedback (which included the words "Trade with this man at your own risk") and received nothing from him in return. The bastard.

Ordered this from Play a few months after it was released, and it's still out of stock.

I haven't seen it in the shops, either. :(

Focus on the screen with the green blob on it. When that swaps screens, you swap screens.

I love what I've played of this so far. The battle system felt a bit daunting at first, but I've got the hang of it now and it's so good. The last two times I played were spent almost entirely battling. The soundtrack is amazing as well.

Still going strengh to strength for me. Finding the two screen battle system quite difficult when facing a boss mind you. Just reached Tin-Pin! Wow, what a fantastic little mini-game. I hope there a more surprises along the way like that.

I think I'm at the point where I'm sticking with this one to the very end

I've started a new game on this having not played it for ages. Realised just how much I adore when the pin menu came up with it's really in depth text. My DS has been ignored for a while but it's definitely going to get some hammer over the next few weeks.

Loved this game so much :toot:

Getting it day one on Switch, hopefully the interface transfers over well. Will be so nice to play with higher res art and the full versions of the songs

This should obviously be a new thread.

Here's a little flowchart to help you decide next time:

Is the last post in a thread from 8 years ago? ---- Yes ----> Don't bump it
