He's been in New Japan for a while now since WWE fired him. If you're watching the rumble thing then there's a bigger surprise than him.

I prefer shorter matches but that flew by. Was there even a cover before 45 minutes? The last 50 minutes were just insane.

I realise I'm in the minority here, but I'm starting to enjoy 205 Live more than NXT. The past couple of main events have been fantastic. Neville has really livened things up, his matches against Swan, Perkins and that tag match were all brilliant. Jack Gallagher is killing it too. So entertaining, both in and out of the ring, and it really feels like he's getting over more than the majority of the division. I wasn't keen on Aries on commentary at first, but he's settled into it very well, and his digs at Mauro are often very amusing. Especially when you can tell Mauro is getting a little flustered. It sounds very much like Aries will be joining the Cruiserweight division too when he returns to action, which I'm looking forward to. I think he might fit in much better there. I loved seeing Tajiri back too.

NXT still feels in transition. I kind of feel like the golden age of talent there is ending, obviously with the exception of the likes of Asuka, Nakamura, Joe and Roode. Perhaps I just need to give them more time to build people up, the roster was really raided by the draft. I'm not a fan of that new announcer either. I'm hoping the recently recorded shows for the new year will liven things up a little.

Hoping Wrestle Kingdom 11 will be up on an add on on Kodi somewhere tonight. Tonight will be the first proper week without TNA to watch. I watched 10 on Kodi, and if anything even remotely holds up the Styles and Nakamura match I will be very happy.

I'm definitely enjoying 205 more now I know the wrestlers a bit better. Tajiri helps too.

Christ, some of the chair offence tonight has looked beyond weak. Some of the lightest chair shots I've ever seen...even to the ring posts (don't want to damage those LEDs).

Stephanie...an equal opportunity emasculator.

This show has been so flat, the crowd so epically comatose, I've resorted to reading reviews of the Xbox One S to keep myself amused...it's 3 in the morning.

Worse, Sky are now cutting to commercial breaks earlier and not airing the WWE's video packages (such as a package on Edge at the Royal Rumble and a trailer for HBK's new movie). 50 minutes of strawberry floating adverts.

Said it before but Stephanie McMahon is one of the worst things about WWE today. Not only does she put down the male superstars, but has now started doing the same with the female superstars. If this was going to end with either Sasha or Bayley beating her up then I'd be fine with that. But we all know that won't happen.

I think it must be a ego thing as Shane doesn't seem to have this sort of attitude. Didn't really when he was a heel too.

You guys should watch this, perfect explanation of why RAW is so bad right now:

While not perfect, SmackDown is an enjoyable 2 hours of TV. It zips along & doesn't drag, it bizarrely contains edgier & more reality-based material, & there are multiple on-going storylines that make you interested in what's coming next (this has been some of The Miz's best ever work).

RAW is the worst kind of programming: boring, laborious, wasteful and at points really quite childish. The humour last night was diabolical. The show lacks any sort of energy. Watching last night felt like viewing something I've outgrown. RAW is so much better watched the following day on YouTube, either in 50 minutes or an hour and a half. There was almost 50 minutes of adverts - USA Network are just taking the piss.

To sum up that video:

RAW is about moments (as long as something cool happens who cares if it make sense)

Smackdown is about stories that engage you and have a beginning, middle and end.

That poor jobber got it from the announce team. The crowd had her back though, shouting 'Let's go Jobber'. She did move a lot like Mae Young though, sadly not when she was in her prime.
