Marty Scrullis apparently the highest paid contracted wrestler in ROH history and now head booker. Let’s see what happens.

I think there is a tad over valuing going on with Scurll given he is the last of the Elite crew not to be signed. I'm not sure he is that good, especially to be made head booker.

I've been watching a ton of ROH, MLW and Impact over the weekend, why do they all seem to be from the same arena? It reminds me of when Impact were going out of their way to look like WWE shows, the third tier all seem hell bent on looking like each other.

I guess I have to give NWA some credit for coming up with a show and format that really stands out, on a really small budget. Not to mention their matches seem a hell of a lot more safe for the talent and they use a lot of smoke and mirrors to hide it.

Its a complicated one. Unlike with Hogan, there is no footage of her being racist. The woman who was racially abused said the incident is forgiven but didn't name her, so we don't know any of the details other than what Allison Kaye has alleged, as far as I know.

The bullying is a bit different, it's kind of hard for me to castigate Kaye for bullying, when no doubt countless top stars in the past have been able to get away with a lot of bullying and been pushed to the stars. Shaun Michaels for example with the Clique was a pretty shady guy in the 90s but seems to have a stellar reputation today. Randy Savage was downright abusive to Elizabeth but that seems to be largely forgotten. It doesn't make it any more acceptable for these things to apparently be happening, but wrestling is such a weird industry in terms of what behaviour is 'acceptable'.

None of that excuses her alleged behaviour of course, but I think Impact probably made the right call since at this point they are only allegations. If more comes out over the coming weeks, then they should probably get the title off her.

On a side note (and this doesn't excuse her behaviour in any way) her match against Sami Callihan was very impressive at the weekend.

Multiple women who were also there at the time have corroborated what Allison Kaye said. I'll copy & paste what I wrote else where because I can't be arsed typing it all again:

For those that haven't seen it, Tessa tweeted:
Hey women, try supporting one another. Cool things happen.

Which resulted in a bunch of women wrestlers quote-tweeting it and mentioning how horrible she is including:

Allysin Kay (Sienna from TNA)
Remember when you spat in a black woman’s face and called her the N-word in Japan? Was that you “supporting women“? The AUDACITY of this tweet

Chelsea Green:
You’ve consistently put down, bullied, and belittled countless female coworkers, including me. Is that support?

Casey Mitchell (reliable twitter ITK about NXT stuff):
She bullied Renee Michelle (Drake Maverick's wife) at an indie show and they had a tussle of some sort. I figured people involved in it would know more details.

Priscilla Kelly:
Remember publicly putting me down on twitter last year for something that didn’t involve you whatsoever, then continuing to drag my name to other people for it?

Terra Calaway (retired indie wrestler):
That time someone got into a legit fight in a battle royal, came to the locker room after and told every single female that they were trash, then got into another legit fight in the locker room?

Cause that was fun.

La Rosa Negra (wrestler who Tessa spat on and called the N word):
@Sienna & @ImChelseaGreen Thank you so Much!!!!.......
That Story!!!!.... Yes, that's happens on Japan 2017!!! If @Tessa_Blanchard do not Remember it ... Can I!..

I am not a Mean Girl with any Coworkers around the world .

Be kind of #racist is not ridiculous is a #sickness

Isla Dawn (was bullied by Tessa while in Stardom in Japan to the point where she left and flew back to Scotland in the middle of their 5 Star GP tournament):
As someone who experienced your bullying firsthand, received regular verbal abuse, was spat on, had rumours spread about me, dealt with multiple attempts by you to blacklist me from other companies, (plus more), I just pray you now follow your own advice.

Rebel (TNA):
I like to think people change over time. But I can confirm the bad behavior & non supportive attitude in Japan, I was there

Shanna (currently AEW):
She did more nasty stuff in Japan... Never forget. Practice what you preach sweetheart. I standby @LaAbusadoradePR, she's a fun loving person who would never disrespect anyone. Much love to you Rosa.

The racist incident happened in Japan in Stardom in 2017. She had a ton of heat there for just genuinely being a banana split to a lot of the other girls there, that was already known about but the news of this racism incident is new. She pissed off some of the regulars there to the point where one of them (Kagetsu, who was one of the locker room leaders) was openly laughing at her during a match and began no-selling her offence. Tessa made it to the finals of the 5 Star GP tournament and a similar thing happened in that when she was fighting Yoko Bito who went on to win.

iirc Io Shirai (the top star in Stardom then) had enough of her by that point and basically kicked her the strawberry float out of there and she was never invited back.

She was a prick during the first Mae Young Classic too, with I think the most famous incident was her being escorted out of the NXT Performance Center after having a meltdown when Ricochet dumped her.

There's been reports of her being a prick on indie shows as well that have been corroborated by wrestlers from those shows too, including being involved in a legitimate fight in the middle of a battle royal twice with Deonna Purrazzo (this is up on YouTube) and afterwards in the locker room.

When you're a really, really good wrestler and the daughter of a WWE Hall of Famer and former Horsemen and WWE still don't want to sign you then there's obviously something up.

I can't recall seeing her wrestle, though I did watch the Mae Young Classic. I only sporadically watch IMPACT (sometimes by chance on Showcase, other times I will stream it via My5) and I haven't seen her outside of some backstage segment with Tommy Dreamer.

Is she Chyna good in the ring then, that warrants her facing off against the men and being world champion?

I guess they've gone down the 'all publicity is good publicity' route as IMPACT's relevancy has dipped massively since leaving SpikeTV in the US, and AEW started. Ring of Honor has also just started airing on Showcase in the UK, BTW. And of course MLW on Freesports/YouTube.

AEW contract extended to 2023 on TNT! Hopefully a different channel over here picks them up when their contract with ITV runs out.

They've gone and commissioned another TBA weekly show as well.

I guess we've had the rebirth of Nitro on TNT, it's now time to give us Thunder on TBS...

Apparently it's worth $44 million per year which puts them into profit already for 2020. It's good news as they're a nice alternative to WWE and it's nice to know they'll have the money to stick around.

WWE still has three major stops on the road to WrestleMania, with the Royal Rumble next week, their Saudi Arabia show being moved to an unconfirmed February date (it used to follow Mania) and then Elimination Chamber on the 8th March, with WrestleMania on the 5th April.

Drew McIntyre is clearly being pushed into the main event slot on RAW so may feature. Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez II or Tyson Fury was the front runner last year. And Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns was leading on the SD side.

So nothing exciting on the cards...yet.

Becky vs Shayna (who wins the Rumble) has been popping up a lot.

Why are they airing SD highlights before Raw?

Who would have expected WWE now having to share a network/My5 with IMPACT WRESTLING. I think the last time that happened was in the USA when WWF RAW was on the same channel as ECW on TNN.

WWE had to do this, though for me NXT UK and a new show (or a bolstered Main Event to compete with AEW Dark, which is still on a long delay on the WWE Network) would have been more valuable than such delayed coverage of RAW and possibly SmackDown. With a VPN, RAW (1 hour 30) and SmackDown (full show) are available on YouTube roughly 12 hours after airing, and the highlights are up about an hour after they air Live on TV. The other week almost 50 minutes of SD was available from WWE on YouTube. Add in commercial breaks, and there's your hour for C5.
