Crazy to hear about these releases, especially considering they are about to go back on tour again surely they need all the talent they can get?

I'm calling it. Vince is leaning up the company ready for a sell off.

Braun needs to go to AEW and be the leader of Dark Order and revive that faction.

God no, if they feel the need to pick up Braun (please don't), keep him away from DO.

This was the conclusion, the MAIN EVENT, to RAW last night:

I don't know who this childish gooseberry fool appeals to. Not even kids!

And yet you still watch

Shingo vs. Okada was predictably awesome yesterday. Genuinely shocked Shingo won. Still kind of meh overall on NJPW right now though with the lack of direction, both their own doing and otherwise

I'm finally catching up with CyberFight Festival. I haven't reached the big matches yet and I'd say it's still easily SoTY so far.

If anyone doesn't already watch NOAH/DDT/TJPW(/Ganbare I guess), this is a very good point to jump in. A big show with all 3 companies, 3 main title matches and english commentary.

It's on Wrestle Universe https://www.ddtpro.com/universe, signing up can be a bit tricky because it's Google translated rather than a proper English version, but I didn't find it too bad (and hopefully it's only got easier since I joined about 3 years ago. They used to do a month free, but not sure if that still exists, but it only works out about £6.50 a month usually. It's also patreon style billing, charging on the 1st of the month no matter when you sign up.

Send me a message if you need any help, I can explain some of the background to the matches if you watch it too.

Surely they must have some data that somehow suggests this crap is popular somewhere. I can't work out who would like it though.

Maybe it's YouTube hits or something. The only reason why it would get a lot of YouTube views though would be people checking out how terrible it was. Which is diminishing returns, because people will see how gooseberry fool WWE is now and they won't be winning those fans back.

I'm baffled by it. How do they have a Hollywood style writing team and come up with such utter dross. The last time Raw was even remotely interesting, and I use that term loosely, was when Heyman was in charge and they did that Lashley thing where I think him and Braun went through the titantron or something.

2 of the better matches got added to YouTube, albeit with Japanese commentary, and both are worth a watch.

Konosuke Takeshita (DDT young ace) & Yuki Ueno (rising star who will be main event level by the end of this year, once served me drinks in a bar in Tokyo, all round nice boy) vs Kaito Kiyomiya (NOAH young ace) & Yoshiki Inamura (young NOAH version of Ishii is probably the easiest way to describe him)

Team DDT (DDT President Sanshiro Takagi + 5 staples of the DDT roster) vs KONGO (heel faction from Noah)
features brutal kicks and bicycle based offence

EDIT: just noticed the Ganbare Pro offer match was put on youtube too. Ganbare is a very small promotion, way behind the other 3 promotions which are part of CyberFight, but they're a lot of fun and have some great talent. Match is fast paced and short, if you have 15 minutes to fill.

Thanks for the links and information Coldspice :D

I'm currently working my way through my NXT backlog now that I have the WWE Network 99p offer for a couple of months. Might nab a month of DDT at some point after that though I'll definitely give the videos you posted a watch over the weekend. Very much appreciate those as I never know where to start with other Japanese promotions

No worries at all, I know it can be intimidating to get started with many of the other promotions. Universe is great value with all DDT and TJPW content going on there, more and more NOAH being uploaded plus lots of other random stuff.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Todd Pettengill just as corny as ever, love it.

It’s on a smaller scale because of the building size, but at least Triple H delivers a facsimile of these classic shows fans remember. Unlike SmackDown recently...

No miniature Thunderdome for this one either.

I get the impression that Grimes is being groomed to be the new Damien Sandow/Elias.

Meaning he will get called up and used as a comedy jobber.

A bit random but has anyone seen the nonsense the former Alex Riley posts on Instagram? Apart from trying to be a rapper, it seems he’s big into Covid conspiracy and building a stage on top of Trump’s border wall so he can ‘perform’ on it. Losing his grip on reality, it appears.

Like that NXT referee (the orange bloke), he also went looney with COVID conspiracies and mask wearing. WWE recently fired him.

Looks like WWE (or rather Triple H) has rehired Samoa Joe already for NXT. Last night’s In Your House ended on a bit of a cliff hanger with William Regal. Having lost control of the locker room over the past month he appears to be quitting as GM, saying at the end of the PPV it’s time for a change.

What's the reason AEW ratings have dropped so much for the past three weeks?. They are under 500k now when they were over a million in may.

It’s because the show has been temporarily bumped to Friday nights on TNT, following SmackDown on FOX. This has also had the negative impact of completely killing the ratings here in the UK too - last episode dipped to 32,000 on ITV4 (was just over 100,000 the week prior). TNT has lumbered Dynamite in a death slot.
