They went to Canada and had some matches (brilliant main event between Rollins and Balor). Great crowd though, and I rather liked the stage being closer to the ring (smaller building), made it feel a little different.

I did some research as I thought it looked odd. The arena is actuallly pretty large, the Bell Center in Montreal. Over 20,000 for hockey, however they appear to have just bought the stage forward and used less of the arena than they would normally. Which suggests that either ticket sales were poor and they reconfigured the set up or they anticipated it and planned to set it up that way.

Haven't really payed attention to it since the draft strawberry floated it tbh. Only really interested in Smackdown now.

Forgot about Backlash. It's too hot. I wonder how long it's scheduled for. Both brands makes me concerned it'll be a four hour job (excluding Pre-Show).

That Nia Jax “be a star” promo was so forced, made even worse by the crowd booing it.

What on earth was the point of that Alias segment other than to needlessly fill time.

Underwhelming. Strange show. No idea what that finish was in the Flair / Carmella match. Bryan's match less than 10 minutes... a shame. Joe / Reigns started well, but the life just evaporated out of it. Understandable they lost the crowd, 'This is boring', 'Delete', etc. Rollins / Miz was solid. Styles vs Nakamura too, although I wasn't a fan of the finish. The Strowman, Lashley vs Owens and Zayn match just lacked the Benny Hill theme, but they've done it so much now. Might just be the heat that made me irritable though.

Skimming through the highlights but that was pretty much all garbage.

A double nut shot finish  :fp:

Then I read who they have in mind for Brock at the next PPV :fp:

Glad I didn't decide to stay up just because it was a bank holiday. Sounds like a crap show.

Backlash sounds shite :dread: And another nonsense finish at the end of the Styles v Nakamura match.

Backlash was terrible (other then the opener).

No clue who KO and Zayn strawberry floated off backstage. Owens has gone from Universal Title holder to comedy act. The eventual breakup and a repeat if the match they do will be good I suppose.

Owens was a comedy act when he had the Universal Title as well. Shame they can't book him as a legitimate threat like they did in NXT.

It's a shame as owens and Zayn are really good together. There is zero reason why they shouldn't be main eventing with the title like owens and Jericho did together.

Zayn was the most over baby face, had one of the most incredible match with Nak and now nothing. Vince needs to piss off to XFL and get Trips to takeover stat.

I fell asleep during the multi-man tag, which I never normally do. I think the combination of it feeling like a RAW and replacing Monster with the weak as gooseberry fool POW! done me in. Plus by the time it finished at 4:30am it was getting light outside. :dread:

The show overran because of that pointless Alias segment.

To be fair the Elias segment was the best thing about the show. Unless you enjoyed watching 5 minute holds.

The footage of people in the crowd getting up and leaving immediately when Roman won is hilarious.

The show was rubbish other than the opening match. Was really enjoying AJ/Nak as well but of course WWE couldn't be having that and ruined it. I don't understand how Vince can continue to insist on Roman being the guy, the roster is stacked with talent right now, even if his fondness for him is based purely on his look, why would you not just go with Rollins instead? He practically looks the same and is better in every way.

Glad my subscription expires today or tomorrow. I'll probably tune out for the foreseeable future.

Looking forward to Omega/Okada IV.

Mine renewed this morning after I forgot to cancel it following Mania :fp: Cancelled it now though, WWE creative is just garbage outside of NXT.

If anyone wants some eye bleach following Backlash, go watch at least The Jr and Heavyweight title matches from Dontaku. Both incredible.
