Surely they must have known how much of an awkward knobend PAC was going into this after what happened in WWE?

There's rumours there might be visa issues with some of the other wrestlers on the show.

Have to say, being at the show Page made his surprise appearance at yesterday, that was one of the craziest pops I've ever experienced. This kind of big surprise doesn't seem to happen much anymore.

In addition to the Double or Nothing pre-show, ITV are also showing a AEW preview on ITV1 at Midnight on Fri/Sat 24/25 May.

Daniel Bryan wrestling on the Money In The Bank Kick Off Show in a minute with Rowan against The Usos. Quite the comedown from WWE Champion.

I wonder if Sky will make a move for AEW if they haven't already potentially signed a deal for a TV show with ITV.

Why wasn't that a title match?

That Terry Funk/Dreamer spot deserved an ECW chant from the crowd.

Who’s for another Lesnar title run, then...

Mick Foley's also coming back on RAW to announce a new (another!) title belt. Only one I can think of is that they're bringing back the Hardcore championship.

My bet is women's IC title. Although I don't see why you would get Mick Foley to present that. Could be the hardcore title but I can see that falling flat on its face in the PG era.

If it's the Hardcore belt with the 'must be defended 24/7' rule then maybe they're thinking people won't tune out as much because you never know when a title defence is going to happen!

These last few episodes of RAW have also had a few main events now that have ended up with brawling throughout the building, most recently being at the O2 in London, which was also a staple of that period. Coincidently a fan was also recently shown holding up a Hardcore championship replica as they headed backstage.

MITB reads like a good event, was it?

Well I hear AEW is going for a TV14 rating which is what WWE had in the attitude Era. So maybe they want to create a division to try and head off the competition. But PG hardcore matches sound terrible on paper.

A lot of good to great matches on the show, a number of storyline developments and announcements, but with the usual wackiness thrown in. The theme of the night seemed to be controversial refereeing decisions, with the referee breaking the count on a rope break in the cage match seemingly to keep his job (the Charles Robinson/Flair school of officiating), not counting the pin in the Evans/Lynch match, and Mysterio winning the US title from Joe despite his shoulder being up.

They had a video for Super Showdown in a few weeks pushing it as equal or bigger than WrestleMania. They didn't mention Saudi Arabia in the video, but the crowd booed it anyway.

Considering wwe make so little from PPV sales now particularly in the US, I don’t understand why they would even need to push super showdown to fans in the arena. Why risk the negative backlash from a live crowd?

Was it just me, or did it look like they turned half the crowd lighting off on Raw? I can only assume it was because the arena was really empty, WWE normally like to show off the crowd even at the expense of blasting bright light into their eyes.

The state of that new 24/7 belt. The crowd were up for the Hardcore title and they bungle it with that gooseberry fool, no wonder they booed and sat in silence. :fp:

I think they’ve changed the look of the third hour to make it look more like an NXT Takeover, oddly. Graphics have also changed to black and white, which makes it look more like the nWo. I don’t think it works because it does make the building look empty and dour. I guess it’s their attempt to differentiate that hour, like they used to do when RAW IS WAR first started (The War Zone). But they also used to have a second intro and they changed the commentary team (second hour was usually Jerry Lawler). WCW also did the segmenting of the hours, changing the commentators, announcing position (for a year, then they stopped) and setting off pyro.

Pretty much everything from today's BotSJ double block show was great, but in particular, everyone should check out:

Narita vs Bandido
Romero vs Yoh
Bushi vs Douki
Sho vs Kanemaru
Taguchi vs Eagles
Scurll vs Shingo
Ospreay vs Phantasmo

Aye, overall the best night quality-wise so far, no surprise with all block matches.

My first time seeing Phantasmo this tournament, he is awesome.
